This is it folks!
The UCF Knights are set to kickoff the season this Saturday against Charleston Southern.
The Knights are coming off an 11-3 season where they won Conference USA and beat Georgia in the Liberty Bowl.
They have standout Sophomore Jeffrey Godfrey leading the team at QB in what looks like a promising season.
What are your predictions for this year?
-
The Knights won their opening game in an impressive 62-0 against Charleston Southern. The defense stayed in their form from last year and shut CSU out. The offense played great, especially the running game.
This Saturday, the Knights play Boston College for a chance to prove themselves against a BCS team. The fans will also wear Red Bandana to honor Welles, a BC Alum who lost his life in 9/11 by saving other people's lives.
Going to be a great day in Orlando -
Knights did what they should have done with 1-AA CSU.
Took care of business and got extensive playing time for backups.
Great experience for the depth of the team.
Warm up over.... now down to business.
BC has talent but they are very young.
Dissapointing loss to NorthWestern in week 1 will have them looking for redemption.
Not the toughest test but it's a game this program NEEDS to win to show it deserves to be taken seriously. -
That's exactly how I feel about it. If UCF wins, then they might get some Top-25 consideration for beating a BCS team. But if UCF loses, then anything else they do the rest of the season is worthless to the rest of the nation because they couldn't beat an average ACC team.
BTW: Im not a UCF student/alum. I probably will be next year and that's why I am following them -
UCF plays my Panthers next week, Both are 2-0. It should be a good game.
-
Awesome game!
We've beaten BCS schools before but this is the first time UCF absolutely dominated one.
Granted Boston College is not an elite program but we took care of business.
Continuing the climb up! -
..... and then crap the bed to a Sun Belt Conference team.
Simply unbelievable. -
-
What more do you want?
Do you want UCF fans to tell you we think FIU is awesome?
Do you want me to tell you I think FIU is a better program to make you feel even better?
Not going to because FIU isn't.
When you're talking about a program like UCF's who has made strides yearly and are pressing for entrance into an AQ conference you don't drop a game to a program like FIU.
That's a fact. Sorry that appears to upset you. It's not meant to, it's simply stating a fact.
Enjoy your win for now.
We'll see you next year. -
Ultimately this loss is understandable and it wouldn't have been looked at as very damaging in the eyes of poll voters.
The big loss and the wort on our record this year is FIU.
That loss cannot be justified and it will haunt us even if we were to run the table in Conf. USA.
I don't believe we will run the table in Conf. USA by the way.
This offense has too many issues.
With all the talk that they worked with Godfrey to teach him to stay in the pocket and make reads.... I don't see it.
IMO the kid has regressed and has been MORE apt to take off running rather than make his progressions.
Big problem.
