Absolutely. The 2012 Red Sox on paper were stocked with talent but didn't perform while the 2012 Orioles on paper looked like a for sure last place team. Again definitely tip my hat to them because you play the game on the field but I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in last place this year.

That could explain two of the skeptics but... I like seeing the O's succeed but I just can't picture a repeat of last season. As I said earlier, what did they do to get better this past offseason? I think they'll find a way to stay out of last place but I'd be shocked to see another run at the East and playoff spot.

    Jealous no.....but being realistic....

The Yankees beat them in the playoffs and they were God awful last year....the Yankees were easily the 2nd most flawed playoff team last year behind Baltimore..

Completely disagree with that as the Yankees were probably the 2nd best team in the AL last year, behind Texas. But the fact remains everything fell right for Baltimore last year, it was just the perfect storm for them.

More flawed than Oakland and Detroit? How about the NL teams besides the Nationals?

Every team in baseball last year was flawed, even the 10 playoff teams. Don't let 9 playoff games change your opinion on the other 162 games the Yankees played last year. Yes the Yankees were a flawed team and those flaws were exposed in October but to say they were the 2nd flawed team in the playoffs last year just isn't correct.

The Yankees had the second highest run differential in baseball. Let's not confuse perception with reality.

Actually I did think the Yankees were a flawed team heading into the playoffs

To me, they did not have the pitching and they had an older roster that played a lot and their bullpen was shaky (imo)

Except their pitching, especially the starters, was pretty good in the playoffs. Their downfall was timely hitting and lack of bench depth when players either got hurt or stopped hitting.

But yes the Yankees were a flawed team.

Jays/Rays/NYY all listed by Vegas (in NY Post) as over/under 86.5 wins - Basically saying its a toss up.
    Balt over/under 76.5
    Boston over/under 79.5

    Mets number is 74.5

right but if you watched them all year, and how the team simply relied on the HR all year, the hitting that just stopped wasnt a shock, at least to me it wasnt. Thats why it was flawed....

I said all year long their pitching wasnt going to be an issue but rather their hitting.....and it wasn't...

The fact remains they weren't the 2nd most flawed team in the playoffs though.

Reyes claimed that Loria encouraged him to buy a house in Miami just days before the trade. What a ****ing dirtbag....
