So awesome when the Islanders spot the Penguins a 3-1 lead and then proceed to kick the snot out of them for much of the next 2 periods. Young Islanders growing up quick hopefully. 1-1 series heading back to Long Island :)

Just want to see this all over again!

Man these games were nuts today.

So glad pittsburg pulled it out. My parents went to Vegas and I put a couple bets on them and the over.

Bet a total of $50 and made back like $63. I would have hit a 3 game parlay and another 2 game parlay if the Blackhawks would have won... would have been up to $140+.

Oh well at least I am in the black.

Game 5 tonight in Pittsburgh. Time for the Isles to take control of this series hopefully. Vokoun starting over Fleury for the Pens. Tavares hasnt had one of those games where he goes bonkers for like 4 points. Just sayin....nows a good time for that. :)

In a bar watching islanders gm. 1st intermission. Really liked how we killed off first pens power play. Good sign since that's been our achilles. One lone penguins fan in bar. Might have to forecheck him into wall and blame it on pagan. I still don't understand how you can watch basketball instead of nhl playoffs. Its like a justin bieber concert vs a metallica concert

I think they should play real hockey until the ten minute mark. If they're still down 3-0 at that point unleash a barroom brawl on pittsburgh for the final 10

Yeah, maybe not a good idea, unless you put the 4th line out there b/c they will be suspended.

I was kinda hoping for Fight Night at the Coliseum Part 2 on Saturday. If we're down big, I hope we dress Carkner, Martin, and any available goons. Kick the snot out of Pitt with the fists if we cant get em on the scoreboard. :)

When was the last time your guys did that to my guys? Oh yeah...you were 4 years old. :p

Seriously, the Pens just need to play their game. The past three games and the start of last night they were letting the Isles frustrate them, and they had no faith in Fleury. So far in this series they've played their game twice, and the results were 9-0. Even when they were letting the Isles get to them it was a close game on the scoreboard. Vokoun looks alot more confident in the net, and one of the Pens was interviewed after the game last night and he said that that confidence spread to the rest of the team.

The Isles are a gritty team, and are a defenseman and a goalie away from being REALLY good. They play with alot of heart, but heart only takes you so far against a team loaded with this much talent. If the Pens play their game without letting the Isles in their head, it won't even be close, which has been proven twice.

Actually I was 14 when this happened:
And you were probably around 13 when the Isles came back from 0-3 vs Pitt in the playoffs.
So you might wanna cool your jets given your teams propensity for blowing leads and choking vs the Islanders. :)

Sure my team has had their struggles with 6 ownership changes, one of which, funny story, actually had no cash to buy the team (Hows jail John Spano?), busted-*** arena, and a low payroll for much of the last 25 years. I know this and everyone who follows hockey knows this.

Hows it feel to know everyone HATES your team because theyre a bunch of babies? You know its true when the other team starts printing posters that have a picture of a pool and say no diving with crosby's head popping out.

Historically Vokoun owns NYI (guy has like 6 shutouts now in like 25 career starts) and thats what you have most in your favor. Because from games 2-4 the Isles dominated play. They need a goalie upgrade and a 2nd line center to either emerge (Ryan Strome was great this year and is probably that guy) and they need another D or 2 (which luckily theyre loaded at in the minors). But goaltending is our biggest shortcoming. Nabby was strong during the regular season (as usual) and hes a good locker room guy but playoffs as you see are another story. But if he can pull it together for 2 games and play well NYI have a chance.

The East is so bad. The West taking the cup again this year. There isn't one dominate goalie in the east and the West is way more physical. The only way the East wins is if Boston goes up against L.A. (They match up well and Jagr kills the Kings) or the Penguins somehow manage to get the Sharks. Ad even that is a toss up if Niemi is on.

Its painful to watch Eastern Division Playoff Hockey right now. No offense to fans of those respective teams but it is the Junior Circuit right now.

As an Islander fan it pains me to say this but if Henrik Lundquvist isnt one of the top 3 goalies in hockey and an elite then you need to revise your definition of elite. Guy has 7 playoff shutouts. He might be the most consistent goalie on any team. So Id think youd should revise that statement to say there is only 1 dominant goalie in the east. That said, I hope the Rags get eliminated by the caps tomorrow night.

Irony: A team owned by Cablevision (James Dolan) has lost 9 of their last 10 in the Verizon Center (obviously owned by one of their competitors). Where the Caps will be hosting the Rangers for a Game 7 tomorrow night.

i only see three legit teams in the west; the los angeles devils, the blackhawks and the ducks. the east has the caps and the senators imo. i think the bruins and penguins are soft but have more firepower kinda like the red wings. still the softness will kill them. if the caps or senators represent the east i think they can beat the kings or ducks. this year however i just see the blackhawks as the class of the nhl. hockey is a funny game though and the best team doesnt always win

You put Henrik in the Western bracket and his shutouts go down. He is good, but I really don't think he is head and shoulders above the majority of goalies out west. I just don't see it. That being said, I give the Rangers credit for ducking it out they way they are win these playoffs.

My bad, I was typing quickly.
You were saying? ;)

Struggles? Please! How about almost moving to KC because the team sucked so bad that no one was coming to watch, and having to have your best player bail your team out financially? Every team has struggles. Your team is just paying the price of selling their souls for the Dynasty. ;)

How does it feel? It feels ****ing GREAT, that's how it feels. No one hates a loser. It means my team is good. No one would be complaining if the Pens were in last place. In fact - and if you deny this you're so full of **** your eyes are brown - no one would be complaining about Crosby if he were on THEIR team. And don't give me the holier-than-thou spiel either, you know I'm right.

I can ask you a question then. How does it feel that your team "dominated" yet only outscored the Pens 14-12 and LOST one of the games, yet when the Pens dominated the score was 9-0, and the evenly played game the Pens won?

If, if, if. Bro, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. If you wanna talk "if"....if the Pens started Vokoun they might have swept the Islanders or won in 5.

Give credit where credit is due. The Pens are the better team. Your boys did play well, but watching the games the Pens were NOT sharp at all. Horrid passing, awful turnovers, and the gritty play by your team made it closer than it should have been. Again, you supposedly "dominated" yet lost in 6 games. That says more about how good the Pens are than how good the Islanders are if you can be "dominated" yet still eliminate the other team in 6 games.

And Nabby might have been strong during the regular season but the Pens still beat him 4 out of 5.

The Isles will be a good team in the years to come though if they make the right moves. However....

...whether or not this happens remains to be seen. ;)

God I love the Penguin hate. :D

I can't believe the Bruins won that game. Down 3 goals with 5 minutes left. I feel bad for the Leafs, it's been a long time since they had success and they had it in the palm of their hands.

Sticking with my pre-playoffs prediction of a Bruins-Sharks Stanley Cup.
