that was just crazy. the leafs and the isles showed their youth in not being able to close out games even after outplaying their opponents. its the playoffs. you play till the whistle sounds

Rangers vs BRuins should be interesting. Lot of the original nhl teams still left. My picks for final four are senators, rangers, black hawks and kings

    Jesus Adam...

In hockey, the players wear sweaters...not jerseys.

Also, The Kings have so much room against The Sharks as opposed to St. Louis. I don't think they know what to do with it. Made extra passes tonight that didn't need to be made. Anyhow, Quick stood on his head for another shutout and L.A. beats their NorCal rivals. They play like this from here on out and no one is beating them. Not San Jose, not Chicago or anyone from the East.

The Penguins game was a lesson in talent beating heart. Ottowa was game to play, but Pitt is just too deep for them.

I don't take gm 1 that seriously in terms of gauging how the series will unfold. To me it starts gm 3. Always seems that one team or both come out flat in gm 1. By gm 3 they make their adjustments and there is a bit more urgency. Not to discount a gm 1 win since its 25 percent of the way there just that the pace increases dramatically by gm 3

Rangers-Bruins game has been fantastic. In overtime now as Boston hit the post as time expired in regulation.

This is going to be an epic series. Would be shocked if it doesn't go 7.

B's v Rangers is a lot more entertaining to me then the Pacers/Knicks game

Rangers goalie is playing out of his mind

Mvp for rangers was goalpost. But it does look like the makings of a great series

I thought the B's would win it b/c they had a lot more chances in the Rangers end of the ice, NYR could not really sustain offense in this one.

Ugh that is heartbreaking for the Sharks. 2 Kings goals off the PP with less than 3 minutes left.

Leafs fan say they don't know what heartbreak is. San Jose Sharks are the Bengals of hockey. Seem to make the playoffs year after year, yet don't go that far.

I am a Kings fan...and I am finding it hard to crow after that one. I don't even know how that happened...but it did. Downtown San Jose went eerily silent after those two goals. No joke.

The winner of Game 1 goes on to win the series an insane amount of time though. Like 86% or something outrageous like that. Game 1 probably matters more in hockey than any other team sport...other than football.

yeah in football, teams who won game 1, advance 100% of the time!, Its been an exciting hockey playoffs. IMO one of the most entertaining playoffs in sports. I was hoping to see a Blackhawks/Ducks series though. Two of the best teams this year.

I wouldn't say Lundqvist was playing out of his mind. In fact, wasn't one of his better games. Gave up a garbage goal, and was beaten cleanly at least four times that hit the post. That game never should have gone into OT. Boston played in the Ranger's zone almost all night.

Anaheim was completely overrated. They got out to a blistering start and rode that to the end. They were very beatable from about 33% into the season. As Kings fan, I wanted them over The Sharks because we match up better against them. It doesn't surprised me they got bumped out.

Chicago is still the monster from the regular season though.

Epic game... one of the most amazing finishes to a Kings game ever. Seeing Kopi go down and then come back to the Rocky theme music was great. Tyler Toffoli was just huge. And yet San Jose has easily outplayed the Kings in both games. This is so much different than last year. Last year the Kings were just dominant. This year, it's not completely the opposite, but they are nowhere near as dominant. Quick on the other hand is his usual self and likely the reason we're up 2-0. Lastly, I hate to be the reporter asking Darryl Sutter questions in his post games.

Does seem that way. Ottawa is having a hard time offensively. Gm 4 will be crucial. If ottowa wins that all the momentum swings their way

not just crosby. the penguins offense is on overdrive. we'll see. spezza is back. the key is the goal tending. if there is no more meltdowns like in gm 2 this should be a tight series the rest of the way. remember the bruins were up 3-1 on the leafs and by all rights should have been watching on tv right now. its all about momentum and playing your A game. if the sens lose gm 4 they will be done. if they win its anybody;s series

i hear ya but i wasnt talking about who will win the series just how it will unfold. if you give away gm 1 you put yourself in a hole. what i was talking about is by gm 3 you see the best of both teams competing whereas in gm 1 usually one team comes out flat. perfect example is tonight's gm. completely different team then the one that came out in gm 1

Malkin and Kunitz learned a valuable lesson last night. Play for SIXTY MINUTES *******S!!!! I wanted to kill them both, and I almost smashed the TV when Dupis hit the post in the first OT.

I still don't think the Pens lose the series, but if they do that one play will haunt them for a LONG time.
