Let the ***** slapping begin..... the Bruins unlike the Pens aren't getting many scoring chances but get this.....they are scoring on them not hitting post or goalie pads.
Not like it hasn't been done before between Boston and Pittsburgh, 'member? It isn't Boston magic, it's Pittsburgh stinking up the joint. Not knocking the Bruins, they're playing great. But the Pens are playing like ****. Turning the puck over, HORRIFIC passing, and their power play is a disaster in this series. I can't even defend their play. There's no excuse for a team this good to be executing this poorly. Like I said, no knock on the Bruins, but it's not like they're some powerhouse team. How quickly you forget that they needed a meltdown to even get past the first round this year. This series has all the markings of the Giants beating the Pats in the superbowl. Pens better wake the **** up but fast.
last year's playoff run for the Kings was all about dominance. This year... perseverance. These injuries have been brutal. Mike Richards is missed, especially on power plays. Would be nice to see Keith (is it?) get a suspension for smacking Carter in the face with his stick.
Keith is a repeat offender and left Carter bloody and broken. Cracked and chipped teeth and around 20 stitches in his chin after a blatant slash to the head. With that being said, Duncan Keith is NOT Raffi Torres, so I donk expect a series long suspension. Probably a game and a big fine, which I think is fair. Heavy game last night. Heavy hitting,, slow and plodding. I felt like I was limping after that affair. It seemed like L.A. was pretty much giving all of their effort to try and win, and it worked. I don't think they can sustain that to beat Chicago three more times in four games though. They will need Quick to steal a game and for someone (anyone) to bust out for a couple of goals. The good news is that they seemed to have figured out how to defend the long entry pass into their zone, which means Chicago now has to skate the puck in to penetrate. That bodes well for L.A.'s hard hitting and checking ability...provided they can catch the fast forwards on the Blackhawks. I expect Pittsburgh to come out on fire tonight. If Boston can weather the storm early, I think they break Pittsburgh's spirit and win. If the floodgates open for Pittsburgh, It wouldn't surprise me to see them blow Boston out in their own building.
Keith has been suspended one game. Would prefer it be game 5 after the Kings tie it up tomorrow, but we'll take it. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-p...-game-4-retaliatory-high-stick-232714641.html
what a gutsy performance by campbell toughing out the injury on the power play. I gotta think that's inspiring for the bruins
Really solid effort by the Penguins. Gritty hockey is not their forte, but they are doing it tonight. They really need to end it with a win though.
have to give it to the penguins. they played a great game. also have to give it to Jagr. I think that was his best game of the playoffs. He was creating chances all game long
Like I said before, Bruins would be the one team that could stop Pitts offense. They have done a great job this series. I think it will be kings/bruins still Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
http://espn.go.com/boston/nhl/story...bell-boston-bruins-breaks-leg-done-postseason wow, thats why Hockey players are the toughest athletes. Plays a full minute after breaking his leg
It's insane how tough those guys are, playing with a torn ACL is not a big deal in the NHL. Bergeron looked like he had been in a MMA match last night. BTW..anyone seen Pagan?
A jet blue flight from Pittsburgh to Boston was carrying a lot of Boston media. There was a baby on board and the pilot asked if Sidney Crosby was on board.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd yet they still lost, Boston is just the better more TOUGH team in the Stanley Cup playoffs those team usually win out......Battle of the originals?? Boston/Chicago?? No disrespect Sam, you guys won it last year bro....
****ing Blackhawks fans are annoying. Starting fights in LA in the stands... Similar to Jets fans coming into Miami... love how the NBC crew is pro Chicago as well. Regehr had a nightmare of a game. Ah well. On to next season and getting healthy for ****ing once.
Including that hooking non-call on the game winning goal that made me want to break my TV. Dude, really? Stop being a homer man! Not making excuses, but how many shots have beaten Rask and hit the post? I counted at least 12 so far in this series. How many amazing stops has Rask made? RASK is winning this series. Not the Bruins' "toughness". The Pens have been consistently outhitting them, and they got 54 shots on Rask Wednesday! The chances were there, Rask just either made the stop or the post did! Couple that with their own sloppiness for the second game and most of the first and you have the 3-0 deficit. Again, not to take anything away from Boston because they're playing great, but they're not some tough juggernaut. Once more, they were a minute and a half away from being eliminated by TORONTO in the 1st round when the Leafs melted down. Sometimes a little luck is thrown in when a team is on a roll like the Bruins are. They're earning their win, yes, but unless you're completely blind you have to admit that the bounces just aren't going the Pens way in this series. A couple of those post shots go in, and it's 2-1 Pens. Unfortunately, it's not. Don't turn into a Ma**hole.
Pagan I am an Edmonton Oilers fan, the way I became an Edmonton fan was because I was dating a chick in school who LOVED the Bruins and would constantly put me off for the Bruins (junior high school)....then when they were in the playoffs she didn't want to talk to anyone and I told her because at the time I didn't have a favorite team, that whoever beats them is my favorite hockey team for that point on....That was 1990 Oliers won 4-1 in the Cup....I am the anti-homer, I like the Oilers, Dolphins, and Yankees and I live where I live bro!!! My lamenting is more out of I have to hear these people more than anything.....
I feel your pain as a Sabres fan, the 98-99 Dallas Stars Gw in OT where Hull's foot was in the goalie box still stings. Luck happens, an inch here, an inch there totally different games but that is how it goes. For example watched a show called "Ice Cold Gold" which featured 8 experienced miners/geologists and 1 newb looking for gold and gems in the wilds of Greenland. They spent 45 days there, on day 3 the newb found a small amount of gold..then they found nothing else until day 45, their last day. They were literally walking among snow covered rocks looking for gems, they literally had to broom off the snow and ice to even look at the rocks. A couple hours left in the entire trip and lo and behold..the newb found 180 karats worth of rubies just sitting on the side of a rock face. Dumb luck? Sure, but it still counted.
Hmm, brooms are for used for what? Pens just did not have it this series, they seemed flat and did not attack the way I thought they would, Chara just shut down Crosby.
Losing is never a good thing but the Kings have a lot to be proud of tonight after not giving up down two goals to nothing quickly. Great game. We'll see how much more effective they can be on a full 82 game schedule that is spread out rather than 48 or whatever games it was this season condensed into 1 game every two days. Really neutralized their physicality along with some key injuries during the season to their defensemen... Making it back to the final four, nothing to sneeze at.
