haven't seen enough of Boston to really make a good prediction but Chicago was impressive against the Kings. If they play with that same level of intensity and Crawford continues to hold it down in the net, they should do some damage.
Go Boston Go Chicago Hell, I don't really care, but the semi's for both conf's were awesome to watch. My boss was/is trying to get me to watch that other league....but I can't...lol
The Penguins were "unbeatable" as well. The Bruins match up very well against the Hawks. That's all I'm saying, my boys have been doing great without me running my mouth.
Bruins win 3-0.........that's right 3-ZIP, Chicago literally quits after the 3rd game.....first time ever in NHL history....
I'm much more impressed with Boston's game than Chicago, what they did to the Pens was simply amazing. Bruins in six
Hawks have been dominant all year and even as well as boston is playing I suspect that will continue. Hawks in 6 in what should be a great series.
Wow what a start to the finals. 2nd overtime to start. First overtime had some insane chances for boston. Chicago fortunate to still be playing
Are we having fun yet? Chicago really needs to win this after coming back in the third down two goals. Great game.
That was great. Full marks to the chicago music selection team for playing Maidens two minutes to midnight perfectly timed. Chicago wins. Not sure that they will win the series but that was huge for them.
wow double redirect to end game in triple overtime. one of the best games ever in finals history. what a way to start the series!
lol. didnt catch that. hockey definitely has the best music out of all the sports. more metal than any other sport
I reckon a lot of new Maiden fans in Chicago tonight Goal came right after they played the song. UnifiedTheory is probably not liking Maiden tonight
Great game. Chicago's firepower is going to be the difference in this series, in my opinion. They are like the Penguins..but with a defense. Perfect way to start the Finals.
Real impressed with Bostons size and physicality though. Seeing Keith back away from a hit was pretty telling. Would have loved to have seen Penner vs Chara.
Only thing that matters after game one is that they are 1 up. I don't care who wins, but it's exciting to watch. Can't watch that other league...the flopping players one...lol
nope. hitting is encouraged here. the ballerinas in the other league would last about 30 seconds ina bar fight with these guys
I wouldn't say there is absolutely no flopping or crying. Some of the reactions when the sticks get up around the face but don't actually make contact are somewhat comical. just one example
Thing is, the Ref's also can't really effect a game in the NHL like they can in the NBA. Sure they can create power plays, but unless there is a double major no one fouls out, and unless someone is clearly tripped on the way to trying to shoot a goal, no free chances to score..as even then the goalie can stuff the penalty shot. This is one reason why I prefer NHL playoffs to the NBA in the late rounds and title games
the best is when the game goes into overtime. The refs really look the other way on 99% of penalties. It becomes a no rules fight to the death. Reminds me of when I used to play Jungle Ball in grade school... basketball with no rules.
No elbows and you just couldn't tuck the ball like a running back and go to the hoop, otherwise it was ON!!!! What keeps the players in line is if they go to far and high stick someone they know there will be retaliation from another player, or in the Cup, it will cost their team a power play and maybe a championship
Kane was flat out awesome tonight. Boston is in trouble. Anyone know what Bergeron's injury was. He left in an ambulance
Decent sized trade between Kings and Maple Leafs today. Jon Bernier goes to Toronto for Frattin, Scrivens and a second round pick. L.A. Has a new backup goalie and ANOTHER RWer to go with another second rounder, and Toronto officially has a goalie controversy with Reimer and Bernier.
After watching this series so far, how anyone can say any other sport is more exciting than playoff hockey is beyond me.
