Yeah, Dale Jarret passing Dale Earnhardt on the last 1/4 section of track is a favorite memory of mine.

Dale J retired, now all the new drivers have my loyalties divided..the new youg guys like Busch and Kenseth are not my sort of folks, and the formula 1 guys like Menard or Montoya have yet to make an impact..I'd like to see them do well this race.

Big time. If they would have started it just an hour earlier they would have missed the rain and finished the race.:pity:

I liked this one, but the ending was poor they should move the start time back to 12:30 until the NFL season starts.

Yeah, the delaying the start to 3:30 EST probably prevented the race from going the full 500 mile distance. Had it started at say 2:00 EST, the reace likely would have been completed.

I always liked the race at 12:30, bright sunshine and you could watch it all afternoon and do things at night.
Daytona 500 should ALWAYS be a day race, they already have a night race (Coke Zero 400).

Gordon had that race where he wanted it, if the rain didn't come it would have been a Hendricks sweep with Gordon, Martin and Johnson up front.

Matt Kenseth got the "Real" Lucky Dog on this race, sometimes luck counts just as much as skill.

I rather enjoyed the race, but I am a big Matt Kenseth fan. I do wish the race had finnished but after last year I'll take it. I think Matt would have been there at the end, he had a strong car all day.
