problem is that I'm not convinced that Vernon is better RIGHT NOW. So we have two guys not worthy of starting. That's why I wanted us to go out and get someone at the trade deadline... someone that could compete with these two.

No. But its ridiculous to just come in here and make stuff up when people are already pissed about the loss.

This made me chuckle. What exactly is the history of this season? I mean if that is the context of it sure.

So it's a given that we go 4-4 the 2nd half of the season because we went 4-4 the first half (despite 2 losses coming in OT after missed FGs and this loss much in part to referee blunders)?

We play the 3-5 Bills twice, 1-7 Jaguars, 3-6 Titans, 4-4 Seahawks, and a NE team in week 17 that might be resting some players, but our best possible outcome is 8-8? I'm sorry if I'm not throwing in the white towel already.

I'm personally thinking we should evoke a 24 hour rule or maybe an 8 hour rule where we can't post after a loss. Some of us (perhaps myself included) don't take losing the right way.

While I agree totally that points totally trump yardage by a mile...giving up 13 for 19 on 3rd down( mostly 8 yard or more) is downright epic in terms of ineptitude

Yes it is. You'll never see me say the defense played well today. I just can't say they were bad in a historic sense or lost the game by themselves.

It's as close to a sure thing as exists that we're going to lose the Bills game on Thursday night. San Francisco is too physical a team. NE is not going to rest players, because BB gives zero ****s about your fantasy team and only cares about winning.

Given that this year they were the #1 3rd down defense in the league going into today's game. Their performance today was historically bad.

That's what I said originally. If he hadn't been traded, Vontae Davis' contract would mean he was still going to be on Miami's roster in 2013.

In all fairness, no rookie QB has been Andrew Luck, the best prospect since Manning himself, except Luck has the advantage of playing under rules that now better favor the QB.

Listen. All of us here, are obviously hard core fans, or else we wouldn't be on this message board typing. We are all frustrated, that loss hurt. We're all hurt. But let's not take it out on each other. I honestly come here to hear and see others frustration to vent on my own end, and realize that I'm not the only one who cares about the fins. Makes me feel better...

 You don't have the foggiest idea what you're talking about. Do you even watch football the final regular season week? The last I checked, when teams rest players during week 17 it's not b/c coaches are concerned about fantasy stats; it's b/c they want to make sure they're healthy for the playoffs if week 17 has no impact on the season. If that weren't the case they'd PLAY their starters rather than sitting him [like Rodgers last year for instance], duh.

if he is still on the board when we pickā€¦ not going to be a popular pick because everyone os going to want a skill position player but just like the Pouncey pickā€¦ it would be the right pick

This is where I disagree with you, yes they only gave up 23, but how many sure ints did they miss? SSMith catches that last one we are in FG position already and it wasnt like it was a hard int he caught it, hang on to it. They gave up a TD in double coverage. How many 3rd and 10+ did they give up? when you have the oppportunity to get off teh field, you have to do it, even if you dont let them score it is another minute your offense is off the field.

So I can turn it around and say teh defense did nothing to help out the offense.

Why do we refuse to understand that our quarterback was injured, their quarterback is the kind of player that comes along every three decades, and our secondary isn't very good? It was their strength against our weakness. We're .500 after having had a losing season last year. Next case. We have another game next week that we can win.

Bob Kraft is heterosexual. Irsay well...not that there's anything wrong with it.

If you're a Colt fan, you should not think your team is crap. But they are not good. They are strong at home, because the conditions are so proactive. But on the road, they are capable of getting destroyed by the worst teams in the league. And they will. Hell, look what the abysmal Jets did to them. The Colts would not have been in a very close game if it were played in Miami today. They, like us, are inadequate in many areas personnel wise.

But be glad, because when your owner decided to shove that season down his throat last year for Luck, it secured your fanbases future. I think this guy has some nasty and provocative photos of Goodell. Not a single entity investigates him for throwing the season last year...and not a single holding call today against our d-line who were pretty much mugged all day.

That's my point though. Smith makes an excellent #2 Cb. Keep him only if the price is right and get one who is a bonefied shut down guy. That pushes guys like Jimmy Wilson back to a 5 or off the team...

When is the last time Brady sat a week 17 game? How often does Belichick rest his starters week 17?
