Our kicker was just good enough to lose this one.

Quarterback play is real and it exists outside of Miami.

That wasn't QB play as much as it was luck.

The game should have been in his hands, IMO, but it wasn't. This is the problem with our head coach and his core philosophy. With a 2 point lead with 5 minutes to go, what do we do. We get in a tight formation and run the ball on first down for no gain, just as we hadn't run the ball well on first down the entire game. On second down, we run a one man route with the quarterback rolling to the short side of the field. He slides for a two yard gain. Third and long, and we have our quarterback in the long yardage position we didn't want to put him in.

We should have been trying to throw the ball from first down on to extend the lead at that point. Instead, we tried to play it safe to avoid turning it over and flipping the field position. I'm so sick of this philosophy

You just knew they weren't going to come out and go for the throat on that last drive. Anybody in the world could have predicted how this game would end at that point.

Now that is a prime example of a QB costing you a football game.
Matt Moore owns it and he knows it.

Is there a screen cap of Marshall being mugged and catching the ball anywhere? That was sick.

It was QB play. Throwing into tight windows is part of the deal. Maybe the last-second throw to Murray(?) was luck, but if Romo is making these throws throughout the game, it’s not a fluke.

Sparano should never have cheated on Carpenter with Graham, the magic is gone.

The throw where he was blindsided as he threw and his arm was actually hit in motion was skill? The play where he just threw it up into the middle of the field and it magically found Witten was skill? [Vontae must not have been paying attention to not intercept that] You can give him the two where he actually made a clean throw to a dump off guy in the flat while being tackled but the previous two were luck, plain and simple.

That's the first TD catch I've ever seen made while in a sleeper hold.

Well, with Vern C out, Garner will get his shot, imo that could only help things.

Baloney. There is no way that loss should be attributed primarily to Matt Moore.

Making those sorts of throws all game does not amount purely to luck. I’d accept an explanation that our secondary had a bad game and made Romo look good that way, but Romo had something to do with it too.

I also sense an underlying current that Romo just can’t possibly be that good, because, well… because. But he actually is that good when he stops trying to be Brett Favre.

Three of the four of these types of throws happened in the last TD drive. As I said, the two he managed to get to the guys in the flat, good for him. The one he just lobbed up was a complete Brett Favre throw and the other he was blindsided when he threw it. 99.9% of the time those don't end well for the offense. He is extremely lucky it didn't quack its way into a Dolphin defender's arms. So it was basically half him and half luck. Romo is only 'that good' in flashes. He can't put a complete season together and we know what happens to him from December on.

Romo made two or three of those plays and two were on the same drive. He was hit as he threw the ball and it still went right to the receiver. Thats not skill. No way. He got lucky, the ball could have gone anywhere. Its a lot less plausible that he could do it again than it that it was just luck the ball went there. It wasn't even close to being a spiral either.

The replay showed what a duck that was. I don't see any need to prop Tony Romo up as some great QB just because we don't have anybody in Miami. If we would have done a better job of making him pay for those picks he threw early we'd be talking about him having a bad game.

Yeah, it was absolutely sickening just how lucky Dallas got on those plays. You know if it was Miami on offense those would have been pick 6 without question. Just our luck.

Their was a little luck on both sides. Will Allen and Cameron Wake both missed sacks. They wrap him up and it's a different story. Plays were missed everywhere though. Story of 2011.

Moore knew it and so did everyone else. He consistently made bad throws when we needed a play. Bess bailed him out once.
That throw to Clay that would have been a first down was one. It was a poorly thrown ball.
He also made a huge mistake throwing the ball into the stands when he had a country mile to run.
Losing two snaps. There was many things in this football game that point to our QB.

I don't belive it was just their Luck...

You make your own luck, by not giving up on plays...

Our O gave up on that last drive, with conservative play calling and terrible performance....

Their Offense came back since they needed a score they made all the right calls and executed them... anyone can call it luck... but many call it making plays...

While there is at times blind luck if you will I tend to adhere to Branch Rickey's version , ""Luck is the residue of opportunity and design."

After three turkey dinners and some alcohol I wish I felt that way.
Damn I wanted to win this game. emotional loss.
We couldn't control the clock. When it runs down and you lose by a FG.
    Tough to take.

I honestly believe bad play calling on the last drive sealed it for Dallas. You gotta have Moore air it out there, stretch that field. Play to win. But no, Sprano plays to not lose. Yes, Moore made a bad throw on 3rd down, but I doubt it goes for a first down catch. Moore is a gamer, teammates like him, and he can still improve. This was only his 20th start of his career. 10-10 as a starter. But yeah...ever since that NYG game...where he had 5 carries for 31 yards, he hasn't really gone off to run for yards. Probably could have ran one in early in the game...

Someone has to give an injury update on Carey. Garner has a chance to solidify a spot as the starting right guard next year if he is out. Today is also one of the few times I've ever seen Miami short pull Incognito and pull Pouncey which is the ideal usage of these guys. Time to look through the backups the team carries to see if they can find a right tackle to save on future needs.
