Wk #17 Announcers: Dick Stockton Charles Davis Game day map: http://the506.com/sports/?cat=14 Players who are out: Miami: Karlos Dansby, Chris Clemons has a groin issue that may keep him out as well. Detroit: Drew Stanton has a separated shoulder and Shaun Hill is healthy coming off of a broken finger Matchups: Hill is good at the underneath game, and Lions Qb's have been sacked less than 30 times this season, the ball will come out quickly so the Defense has to tackle well and limit RAC and YAC Miami Offense has been sputtering, but the Lions secondary gives up long plays, if there were a game to air it out, this is the one. Wildcard: Lions Stefan Logan is a tremendous kick returner if there is shuffling on the ST Coverage unit due to injuries that could give the Lions a huge advantage. Team Records at stake: DBess and Beast are 4 catches away from tying Duper and Clayton's single season receptions mark as a duo Cam Wake is still 4.5 sacks behind Bill Stanfill and Jason Taylor's team record for sacks in a single season, 18.5. Dolphins already hold or have tied a mark for going 6-1 on the road and 1-6 at home, but there other streak: w/w/l/l/w/l/w/l/w/l/w/l/w/l/ Is on the line as the perfectly inconsistent Dolphins play the up and coming Detroit Lions. Heavy snow up in the Mtns today with a good chance power, or cable internet service will be interrupted throughout the region so I'm kicking this one off early.
If we keep Sanders under 100 and flush Mitchell out of the pocket. We win easily. If we can't do that it's anybody's game.
I know, I know...why would I want to torture myself. But does anyone have a link to watch the game live online? We're headed for a blizzard up here, so no headed over to the sports bar for me. -NSR
Same for me, we are snowed in, keep an eye on this thread as one shows up around 11:30 or so. Would really enjoy a 9-7 season out of the team.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the game today fellas. Great-Grandma turned 93 yesterday, but we're celebrating today of course, so I'll miss the game. Be nice if I came back home to a W. I think as long as Jake can handle Robert Porcher we'll be alright.
I'm going to be part of the Half-Time show. Dolphins are celebrating Play 60. So if they Show it, and you see a guy in orange #39 jersey with a aqua, orange wig...It's me On a serious note, I think Suh will tear our Oline a new *******, but hopefully we will get a win. Go Fins!
Heading out now to get my "blizzard" supplies. Suppose to be a biggy here in NY. I`ll be back in plenty of time to watch my Dolphins surprise me with a rare home victory today. Ya think maybe Henne can add to that for a change? We`ll see.
Just asked Matt stafford for a picture. He said no. I told him I don't like Georgia anyway and walked away lol
Eh, knucklehead on QAM's pregame show, not Kannel or McDuffie, said Sparano will be fired after the season ends, but then again, I don't even know his name and I watch the Dolphins closely, and he did not re-affirm it.
I will be pleased if we just keep our normal W/L stat going being that we will, no doubt lose to NE in the last on the road game, it seems fitting to win today. Lets say we get one TD off a pick 6 and 4 FG's to win 19 to 17 with our last FG coming with 5 seconds left to pull it out! Their two TD's coming off 2 Chad INT's of course, I hate changing this team's MO at this late date!
I know this game is practically meaningless....but can we PLEASE just a destroy a team for once? Just ONCE!!!
It was Mark Eisenberg who reported that Sparano would be fired funny thing is, I thought he was a back up producer or something.
Padre, its almost a forgone conclusion he will be.....he needs to win both this week & next week to even be considered for staying. He loses today especially he is toast. 1-7 at home is not acceptable.
About darn time, Berger would have had his lunch eaten by Suh, at least Richie has some mass and power to get in his way.
In the middle of a blizzard, looking forward to watching the game on my new 52 inch lcd with HD today!
thnk god incognito is starting at center. can you imagine berger trying to block suh? that wouldve been a massacre
Well, Mike nolan is getting a ton of credit as he should "but" to me, a Top 5 DefCord finds a way to shut down Calvin Johnson.
merry christmas guys. lets get at least 2 wins at home this year p.s. is it true that some fans are planning to werar bags over their head? if so...**** them
Here's my pre-game speech to Dolphin fans: We got two games left. There might not be a season in 2011 and the world will (obviously) end in 2012. Therefore, we only have 2 Miami Dolphins games left in our lives! Lets cheer hard for our boys, no matter what happens on the field!!!!
Bags over their heads? 2 more wins and the Dolphins get to 9-7, a record that got the Cardinals to within a minute of winning the super bowl and the Jets to the AFC Championship. I know it's frustrating losing at home to the Browns and Bills and we don't have an offense, but still. Apparently it's very windy in Miami today, even more so than last week. Time to go for it on 4th down and short, no long Field Goal tries, stop playing for FGs. I can't help but say I'm expecting the Lions to win today, no Dansby today and Dolphins can't rely on the kicker in the wind, he's like 75% of the Dolphins offense. Lions are better than the Bills against the run, but they give up passing plays...not really comforting considering our pass offense though.
Well, here we go. Gotta find a way to shut down Suh, and Calvin Johnson if we want to win this one. Id love for us to win this one, win it big too. My best friend is a Lions fan 32 mph winds. wow.
