Wow, at work and won't be able to focus at all today. Just want it over so I can get home and get ready for the game!!!!
We sack Sanchez 5 times, pick him off 3 times, and we win this one running away and give the Jests a reality check.
Does it get any better than this? Monday Night Football against one of our rivals. Trash talking that's gone back to June. Two young, hopeful franchise quarterbacks in the spotlight. Punishing defenses. It's going to be fun. I hope we smother them!
Going to be a hardhitting game. I'd love nothing more than to show the sports world that the Jets are overrated. This is a must win game. We win this and it will be a toss-up for the AFCE Championship between Miami, NY, and NE. Bills suck and we can already count them out
I looked at that picture and thought you had the bucs and jests in it.. it's un natural to see Miami Dolphins in orange.
im calling a low scoring affair. with the team making the least amount of mistakes winning. i think people are putting too much into sanchez having a bad game last week. BUT i do think he will be under alot of presure.....national tv, first time playing the rival dolphins, on the road, and us potentially smothering their running game......he will either fold or do very well. his experience under the lights and on national tv at USC will help imo. hopefully we pressure him, we need to bring some blitzes, and not channing crowder up the middle so he can get blocked.....but bell twisting with porter on the outside, bring in wake, jp and jt at the same time, stand up everyone, and drop back 3 send 3......something crazy.....we need to confuse dirty sanchez, just as the JEST will try to do to us! if we stop the run, pressure dirty and control the ball on offense....we win this game 17-14
I'm both excited and nervous about this game. Much more so than any other game so far this season. I think we can all agree that this is as close to a 'must win' game as you're likely to get in week 5. Both team's defenses have been in good form so far this season, and both have rookie QB's backed up by a strong running game. For me personally, the key to this will be whether or not our pass protection can stop the Jest blitz patterns from getting at Henne too much. If Henne gets shut down early I can see a situation where the Jest simply fill up the box and make it a lot harder for Brown & Williams to get any decent yardage. Having said that, because it's almost a given that the Jest will blitz, and blitz often, it could be a good game to see a nice return from the short slants and screens to people like Hartline and Bess. So yeah; I'm excited by the possibilities, but nervous about the outcome!
With the pats and bills losing yesterday, we can be right back in the division with a win. I think if we can control the clock like we did against the colts, we can win this game. They don't have a qb like peyton to steal a win in those conditions when they only have the ball for 15mins. I expect to see a heavy dose of ronnie and ricky. Go Phins!
If we can run on the Jets tonight, then i think we can run on anyone. It's the only danger to our offense atm, and if they can't stop it, it prob can't be stopped.
The Jet's have a stout defense, but they're not as good in run defense as people think. They're ranked I think 13th in the league in run defense, I think we can run on them.
I think Ronnie and Ricky will have big games tonight. I am also feeling a wildcat pass tonight!! Man, BIG GAME BIG GAME!!!!
It's a little early for the gameday thread, but I won't lie, I'm having major problems concentrating at work today. I'm looking forward to the game. I believe it will come down to the passing game for both teams. I like our chances, mainly because we've got the better running game. Don't really like the orange unis, but I'm making Asian Orange Chicken Wings for the game tonight ... they should be excellent. Should be a hard fought contest, but I like our chances to win.
3 Predictions: 1. We win. 2. Chad Henne will clearly outperform Snatchez. Both statistically, and by the ole "eyeball test". 3. Because of #2, Steve Young and Ron Jaworski's heads will explode. They will ramble on and on about the "it factor" for no apparent reason.
Like the Talking Heads song , I'm tense and nervous and can't relax ... my bed's not on fire though ... it does get hot however Tick , tick , tick , long day of anticipation ahead ...
Landshark Lager...check Pizza in freezer...check I think this will be a great game and a real test for Oline, but they are gelling, I expect JP to play and JT to play well. Just waiting on SICK to open the Wildcat Radio Chat Room..and to listen to the show before the game.
Here's what they have allowed in each week. Each week shows their opponents leading rusher and the team rushing total. Week 1: Slaton, 9 car, 17 yds Texans, 13 car, 38 yds Week 2: Taylor, 8 car, 46 yds Patriots, 20 car, 83 yds Week 3: Johnson, 22 car, 97 yds Titans, 30 car, 127 yds, 1 TD Week 4: Thomas, 19 car, 86 yds, 1 TD Saints, 32 car, 153 yds, 1 TD They have allowed more carries and more yards in each game than the previous week. 100 yards rushers allowed: 0 200 yards team rushing allowed: 0 Rushing TDs allowed: 2 Rushing YPG allowed: 100.25 YPC allowed: 4.22 If we can avg 4.22 per carry on them, I think we rush for more than 40 times for 175 yards.
this just in....44% of Ronnies yards have come from the Wildcat this season. The wildcat has accounted for 16.39% of our total offense in 2009.
Good luck tonight, guys. This will probably be my last post here before the game. But I'll be back tomorrow, win or lose. And by good luck, I hope we demolish the **** out of your team and leave Jason Taylor weeping on the field again. But that practically means the same thing.
Put the damn ball on the ground and lets start hurting people. This is UFC +100 and we are going to defend THIS HOUSE!
I'm so ready for this game, I'm expecting a low scoring defensive game, but we'll see what happens. I just want to see the Jets go down and Fireman Ed crying in his beer.
The keys to the game IMO: -establish the running game early and often -avoid giving up big plays on special teams (e.g. keep a close eye on Leon Washington) -win the turnover battle -get at least a handful of impactful plays via the passing attack
I gotta a friend on the field there tonight, he's callin me every minute, his says theres a lotta hot chicks, and the stadium is amazing.
