Nope, sure doesn't. He has a 4 INT game instead..... just like he did last time. :wink2:

I don't think you can do that. As soon as you bench Henne, it'd be pretty difficult to justify going back to him because his replacement failed also (at least this season).

Oh, you mean the playoff game, something Henne has never had the opportunity to play poorly in?

why didn't you just say so?

Honest with you Stitches, no one knows if CP is healthy enough to even start, and I think Sparano is keeping it that way as he is seeing what we are seeing, but for him it is even worse.

"We" can notice a poor throw, Sparano sees the protection, the routes, the whole bit.

No, the point is to develop a young talented QB just as virtually every good team in the league does so that they can win yearly for a long time in the future rather than winning in spurts and relying on spotty veterans intermixed with mediocre inexperienced 2nd & 3rd stringers when the vets get hurt.

Aren't you tired of what we attempted the 8 years prior to Marino's retirement? How many QBs? Do you reallllllly want to go down that road again? What did it get us? How many Championships? Ditching Henne right now does nothing but send us right down that path again.

Then why are you (and many others here) even petitioning for him to be anointed the starter? Wouldn't knowing if we even had a valid option at QB be a prerequisite to lobbying for a change?

So when will playing the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th ranked scoring defenses not count as "competing with top tier defenses". What..... just b/c the 3rd ranked D isn't in with them to make it a pefect 6/6? :glare:

Now you're REALLY grabbing at straws.

Cmon now. We're asking a 2nd year starting QB to take this offense on his shoulders with no true vertical threat, an inconsistent ground game, an unreliable mediocre TE, no COP back, no #2 TE, a #4 & #5 undrafted FA rookie WR, poor field position from our weak return game, and suspect play calling. Give the kid the proper resources before you crucify him. Flacco, Ryan, Sanchez, or Freeman don't this much pressure on them.

Yup....... the last I checked, the season isn't over yet..... so he hasn't had the opportunity..... but at least he's beaten playoff teams.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS: you get your young talented QB some actual weapons (vertical threat at WR, seambusting TE, COP back) before you think about changing or drafting a new QB.

This way, you find out what your QB truly is made of, and the ABSOLUTE WORST CASE SCENARIO that arises is you end up needing to draft another QB, but he'll already have the weapons to work with from the get go. So there's nothing actually lost in the process.

What do you mean he hasn't beaten a playoff team? He's beaten the Vikings, Packers and Bengals this year. All went to the playoffs last year.

Green Bay at Lambeau? The Pitt game was a win and we all know it. He single handedly beat the Jets if it weren't for our horrible special teams giving it away late in the game. I don't think that's all too horrible for a 2nd year starting QB and all things considering. I don't think he's a top 10 QB or anything, but do believe he's done enough with what he has to work with to warrant our support while he continues to develop.

Usually competing with generally means that you win sometimes. We are doing a great job padding the W-L records of top tier defenses.

I'm not saying the guy is terrible, I'm saying he's not immune to accountability for poor play. I don't care if they just pretend to think about Penny if it gives him a wake up call. His accuracy is needing some serious work. The NFC games are the least important games on the schedule. They will not help with any playoff tiebreaker.

And the Bills who went to the playoffs in 1999. None of those teams except the Packers are going this year. And AFC playoff teams are MUCH more important.
