This is just a temporary forum that Celtkin was generous enough to setup while they rebuild the real FH. The staff was planning a move to their own servers before the attack and decided to take this time to setup everything up the right way. They have 7 years of data to reload to the new servers. FH does have thousands of members but only a fraction of them are paying members so the cash flow is not as large as you may think.

Why do we need the 7 years of data?

Is this so people with the 10,000 post counts get to keep it?

Any idea how useless wikipedia would be if you didnt include EVERYTHING...would be the same with FH, which I find more usefull than Wiki, and it looks much nice too:ffic:

Thats like asking whether people should have memories or not.Our character is comprised of experiences we have had in our lives and on the knowledge we have learned .Its our database if you will .

Likewise FH has a character that was developed over 7 years. Its our collective memory .I remember the first day I signed up on FH and if I wanted to I could back to review those noob posts and laugh at myself

After years of reading posts from our knowlegeable posters such as Boomer,CK,Muck and many others I can tell you I have learned a thing or two since then .The database that is contained within the FH web pages is invaluable .Every effort should be made to recover it IMO.

Experiences are what make your AND FHs character

Please read through this thread for the answers to your questions. This site we are on now is Celtkins own personal site. He has been a great brother to make this a temporary home for us. Through him, and Brother Ken, FinintheMoon's Awesome Donation, we very greatful to have this site right now to use until FH is back up and running. We sincerely understand the frustrations that we are not back up. We hope to have that resolved soon. Thanks.

come to think of it, Celtkin, how much will it cost me to erase all my previous posts?

The reason is that we'd already decided to move to, and began procuring, our own infrastructure elsewhere. And we needed the old servers offline in effort to get our data back.

When FH returns, it will be on our own equipment (which we already have).

The site makes money. And it will only further improve the site (once it returns).

I don't take offense to anything written about this subject. I understand people have questions. So no worries. :)

We have many members at Finheaven but not all are Donators, VIP/Premium members. This is where the advertising helps out, but currently we have no advertising, with the bills still coming in.

Please read the entire thread and that should answer your question to your first question

As to your second question, this forum is not a replacement for Finheaven. It is a temporary solution. This forum was set up as a vehicle to allow members to meet and to get information until Finheaven is back up.

    As for this question:

I don't understand your question so, if you would, please restate it. :)

Finheaven is a bandwidth hog and was losing money until Matt bought the site. Since then, we choose to roll all of our revenue and projected revenue to purchase multiple dedicated servers, firewalls, and other equipment and to upgrade our connection to the backbone. We had counted on advertising revenue and VIP memberships to cover the cost of those upgrades but, because we have been down and the ad revenue has dried up, Muck and Matt have covered the most of that cost from their own pockets.

We appreciate all of you who support Finheaven and can only assure you once again that what Muck and I have told you in this thread are the facts of the situation and that we are working towards getting back up as soon as we can.

I hope I have adequately answered your questions, bro.

    Long live Finheaven !

I know I'll get roasted for this but I like this site better!!!!!!

During a game or a major signing (Parcells) we would have never been able to long on FinHeaven. It would get so much traffic that it would slow or shut the site down

Whenever this occured we were told it would not happen the next time (draft, gameday, big trade) and it consistently did

Hopefully the NEW FinHeaven will have the best of both worlds

I got to say, some of you guys complain, way, way, too much. I'm not picking on one guy in general so dont go off the deep end. I'm just saying. And alot of the people I see complaining haven't contributed to the site whatsoever. These boards arent free. I'm just glad they took it upon themselves to make a substitute site while FH is down.

This site, as far as I can tell, is perfectly fine and ranks right up there with the old Finheaven. I miss the arcade a little bit, and the PoFo would be rocking at this point in the election cycle, but those are only minor differences.
