Never liked low numbers for wrs.... Cool info though... THANKS
BIG game for the Basketball team tonight. I hope they come out focused. Ole Miss at home will be tough.

Tonight is Missouri isn't it?

LOL, yes. Just have not had my caffeine this am. Was reading an article about Ole Miss recruiting and that stuck in my head.
Last time we played Mizzou they didn't have Bowers. I think he will make the game closer. Road games always seem to be tougher. All of Florida's losses have come on the road. Kansas State game was on a neutral site of Kansas City. Lol

To add to it, we won't have Will Yeguete... Plus they are undefeated at home this year. Make no mistake this is a tough challenge for the Gators. Really a gut check, imo. Probably our toughest regular season game left... Although one could still argue Kentucky at Rupp.

Kentucky will be lucky if they lose by anything less than 20 points in that game IMO.
Yeguete might be back for that Kentucky game

This team disappoints me. They seem to FIND a way to lose games that are close. First Arizona then last night. If they don't learn how to play in a close game going to be a real crappy tournament.

That game was a really tough matchup without Yeguete on defense. Some times you make shots sometimes you miss shots. They made shots when it counted. I think the Gators will be fine.

I don't know anymore. Seems like when the pressure turns up this team makes mistakes... I am still hopeful, but definitely less confident. They still had plenty of chances to win the game, but just could not seem to take the opportunities.

Yeguete not being there really hurt the rotation. Young and Murphy were tired. It's really not a huge deal IMO. We have only been in 2 close games and just didn't the bounce our way. We will be fine. I am not worried.

At least we avenged one of our previous losses. Gators played well in the 2nd half.

Tonight is going to be really tough playing without Michael Frazier and Yeguete. Good news is tho that both may be back by Saturday.

yeah, and with how hot UT has been, not looking forward to this game.
On the positive side, the team knows these guys are out so very unlikely they are not focused. - not that that has been a problem this year...
Truthfully, this like most years I think our biggest weakness is our foul shooting. Think that is why close games have not helped us... we get up but miss free throws just lets the other team come back.

Free throw shooting is a strength of this team not a weakness. Patrick Young and Yeguete are the main people who miss free throws.

Last game we were 5-11. Young only missed 1.
http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=330540057
Missouri game we were 6-12. Young missed 2. take him out, still 6-10. That's pretty darn bad
http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=330500142
Auburn game we were 6-10. Young did not miss.
For the season- 68.6%
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/57/florida-gators
68.6% is NOT a strength, imo. The last three games all 60% or under. So the trend is getting worse...
Edit: For the record, that is tied for 193rd in the nation.
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/statistics/team/_/stat/free-throws/sort/freeThrowPct/count/161
In the Mizzou game both of Young's free throws were front ends of one and one. That really hurt.
We have 4 players who shoot free throws at 80% or higher. That's a great number for any college team. Patrick Young has shot 90 Free Throws and missed exactly half those. He has shot the most on the team by far. The next closest is Kenny Boynton with 72 attempts. Kenny shoots at over 81 %. Other than Young and Boynton we only have two other players who have more than 34 free throws attempted. Those players are Mike Rosario and Yeguete. Yeguete shoots just over 55 %. Yeguete and Young bring down the team percentage a whole lot. Also fatigue is a huge factor in shooting and with the rotations getting smaller maybe that also has something to do with it. Fact is free throw shooting is a strength for this team.

Totally disagree. 193 in the nation is NOT good.
Gators baseball team is off to a terrible start but they did manage to beat the Hurricanes twice and win the series. Hopefully this gives them some confidence.
Basketball team still not at a 100 percent. You could tell that by watching Alabama even if the injured players did play

Hopefully just some rust. Hoping a few more games and they'll be ready to rock and roll.

That was to be expected with such a young team. What's killing them is pitching and the numerous errors.

That and they could never get a big hit with runners on base. Your right tho it was to be expected with such a you g team

Was nice to win the series vs the Canes though. Made me smile! Esp after losing 5 in a row. Giving them their first two losses. :D
