Oregon receiver coach Matt Lubick said after game he wasn't headed to Florida to coach and would coach at Oregon next year. So there's that. Feel free to take another look at my list lol
Now that we are pretty much in full recruiting mode (season is over for everyone) where do you get most of your recruiting news? Websites? Twitter?
I follow this young journalist who stays pretty much on top of Gator recruiting. https://twitter.com/zachabolverdi He writes for the Gainsville Sun whose website http://www.gatorsports.com/section/gatorsfootball
Thats out of my hands .Muck is the only one that can do it.Send him a PM to remind him as Matt and I have done.
Jake McGee granted a 6th year of eligibility. He is the TE transfer from Virginia who broke his leg last year. Great news for Gators
I saw that. Great news. Didn't I also read we have a few TEs coming in as well? Are we going to run the Stanford offense of multiple TEs? FWIW, I am not liking the news about recruiting. Most does not seem to have positive spins. A lot can happen and recruiting is a fickle entity on it's own, but wow.
One TE is already enrolled in school and another one is committed. Too early to tell what kind of offense the Gators will run next year. That will probably be a determined after watching what the players can do. Don't worry about recruiting. Florida will do fine. This will be the worst class McElwain will probably ever have but it will be a top 20 class.
This IMO is ridiculous to do to a recruit this close to signing day. http://www.wbir.com/story/sports/20...l-offer-from-4-star-de-marques-ford/22141193/
You know he wants to go to a SEC school now to play the Vols... he is a 4 star? Should we, did we target him?
I'm sure he would love to go to a School to get some payback. He committed in July so I'm not really sure how much interest if any he had with us. Gators have two DE targets in Byron Cowart and Cece Jefferson so they may lead him away from us. I'll keep you updated if I hear about him visiting the Gators.
He ended up committing to Rutgers from what I saw before he committed to Tennessee I don't think he had much interest in him from SEC schools.
I know we have those two guys as targets, but from what I keep reading sure sounding like both are leaning towards Auburn. Unless you have heard/read something else.
Ivey will go to Florida I 100% believe that without a doubt. Cowart is probably leaning closer to Auburn and Cece looks like he will go to Ole Miss. A lot of things could in fact change. Hard to get great relationships with players when you don't have a lot of time to do that in.
No I get that. One reason, I don't think it is that big of a deal if we miss out on these guys. IF the new coaches coach up the talent we already have on campus, next year kids will flock there. You can tell that kids want to come, but they are all skeptical. Which is understandable. I just hope we can steal a couple of the top recruits.
I think Florida has a decent chance to get Deondre Francois QB committed to FSU and Jordan Scarlett RB committed to Miami.
LB Rayshad Jackson committed to the Gators today. He is a 2/3 star prospect who Randy Shannon really likes. He only has two major offers and they're both because of Shannon. Keep an eye on Phil McGeoghan. He may very well be named WR coach for the Gators. He currently works for the.... The Miami Dolphins.
I'm a little late on this news from yesterday. WR for 2016 class Rick Wells has committed to the Gators. Jabari Zuniga 3/4 star recruit has committed to Gators after previously being committed to NC State. He is listed on some sites as a DT and some as a DE. From what I'm seeing the Gators want him for the buck position and want him to rush the passer. One person said that he showed his film to "a lot" of coaches and everyone of them asked if the recruit (Zuniga) was a 5 star recruit. Also by the way a lot of ppl think he will be really good and has great potential. Steven Clark OT was suppose to make a final choice on his recruitment last night but decided he needed a little more time.
It is nice to see some positive recruiting news for us. Just hope we can get some good surprises on signing day.
Don't worry about recruiting. The Gators will have a top 20 class. I think it could be as bad as 25-30 range if things really don't go Florida's way. However i strongly believe we will be somewhere around 15-20 in rankings when all said and done. Add Ronald Curry to the names linked to WR coach job. Also rumored that there are two former players at Florida that are also candidates. One is suppose to interview this week. Doe Doe for the win! http://youtu.be/AJZd0buQZ70 https://vine.co/v/OTP5PrFO7be
Did you see the stat where the Basketball team is the only team in the nation to lose FOUR games when they have led by at least 11 pts? I think they said NO other team has lost more than 2 like that. This team can't figure how to close teams out yet.
They are not, but I also don't think they are as bad as their record. If they could pull out just a few of those games. I think we'd all think differently about this team. On the fb recruiting front, I expect we won't hear anything else new until signing day? At least for this year's recruits?
You're only as good as your record. This team really isn't very good. I watch them and it's hard to watch. Should get a huge boost with next years players. I'm sure we will hear some stuff and some commits before signing day.
Got some recruits over the weekend. Not big in stars, but that's ok. Sometimes, you just need good coaching!
3 more recruits committed to the Gators today. 4 Star RB Jordan Scarlett 3 Star S Kylan Johnson 3 Star CB Chris Williamson Gators will lose Derrick Dillion Wed. But other than that things look great.
Maybe will start an avalanche with a couple of five stars like cowart there is a lot of optimism in gatorland after the scarlett comit Scarlett is a three down back and should start soon as taylor and other backs are not as good at blocking Posted from my cel
There is definitely a little more positive feeling here. Feels like some momentum too. Here's hoping we get lucky on a few of the 50-50 players tomorrow. Seems like a few years since we have actually won a few of those battles.
Hearing a lot about CeCe Jefferson going to Florida. Almost everyone thought he was going to Ole Miss and a lot has changed in the last few days. Also hearing that no one really knows where Cowart is going. Everyone seems to think he could sign with either Florida or Auburn. Also really hard for me to believe that Ivey won't be a Gator. Florida will get some good players today but I'm sure they will have some heartbreak too.
I saw something yesterday that made a good point. When Muschamp was here, he could never close well. Well if that continues this year, it will be good news for UF! I just hope we do win a few of these 50-50 battles. Seems like it has been since Meyer that we win a few on NSD.
That bullcrap imo. Muschamp did a great job of recruiting players according to rankings. Every coach misses on players. Of all the things Muschamp did wrong recruiting was never one of them according to rankings. I just don't think the staff was good at player evaluations. Jordan Scarlett signed his LOI already too btw. Cowart chooses between Auburn and Florida very soon. There is a source claiming that Antonio Callaway will pick Gators over Miami.
WR Ryan Davis commits to Auburn. He is a good friend of Cowart. Many thought they were a package deal
I thought Muschamp going to another SECteam was going to hurt recruiting .I was hoping he was going to the pros but it was just another wild rumor. While I had some sympathy for Champ its all gone now.He is Gator Bait
