Man Harris is doing some good things today but a lot of concerning throws...... putting up 50/50 balls left and right. Atleast they are going the gators way today.
A win is a win. Brian Poole looked really bad. Kind of looked like we thought we were up a lot. Tried to get Poole some PT and he got torched a few times... led to two TDs... then they said, back to the bench and our D locked it back up. Harris looked better, but he had all day to throw. He still needs to improve some more if we are to have a chance against Bama or FSU. He has one more tune up game vs FAU this weekend.
Wow. Does anyone here have anyone on the inside? Curious what the feelings of the coaching staff are in regards to the QB recruits? Sounds like Franks was not too happy that UF is trying to bring in Eason. I don't know enough about either to have a favorite. I just know we NEED to get ONE of them. I am afraid if Eason picks UGA and Franks was upset so goes back to LSU... We end up holding the pot.
Zach Abolverdi @ZachAbolverdi 9h9 hours ago Exclusive: Florida QB commit sets the record straight https://www.seccountry.com/florida/video-franks-ad If you can beleive him ,Franks is not changing his mind and he is not afraid of competition. Gators chances at Eason look good but I still think UGA has to be the favorite. If Gators get both it will be ideal as top WRs and TEs will be lining up to play with those guys.,
I saw the story on Franks this morning too. That is really encouraging. I really like everything I hear from him (when he talks). Eason... I don't know. I am still unsure of that kid. Everything is pointing in UF's direction. He said he is going to make his choice next week, but Kirby Smart said he may not have an OC by then. I know Eason LOVES UGA, but I am not sure he commits to play there not knowing who the OC is. It would be different if Smart was an offensive coach, but being that he is a D guy... how sure can you be as to what will be there offensive wise? IF both guys do come... I would not be surprised to see Grier transfer. I think Harris is already as good as gone. Which of course would put us thin at QB again.... ugh.
I dont think Grier transfers. He would have to sit out a year besides the six games penalty.Harris may transfer or switch poSitions to WR.
Nothing official, but it does sound promising that we may be getting a new kicker.... https://www.seccountry.com/alabama/big-news-from-coveted-junior-college-kicker
I saw that. But if you go to that same site today, Mac has signed a BUNCH of early enrollees. I think 10+. https://www.seccountry.com/florida The best of which, imo is the QB Franks and the Kicker Pineiro. Two HUGE spots of need for this team!
Will Grier is transferring...http://www.inallkindsofweather.com/blog/will-grier-to-transfer-out-of-florida.html
Funny I've read different thoughts on Grier's transfer. The official quote from coach Mac is that "he came to explore his options" and we support him... yada yada. However, if you read the article in my last post. It says UF told him to leave. Mainly because they did not believe he was truthful in what he took. Makes it an interesting sub plot. Not sure we'll ever know the whole story. Just interesting. That and now Coach Mac dismissed Alex McAllister (going pro anyway). Some interesting goings on in Gainesville.
Wow. Nothing in here in almost 3 weeks.... Come time to get excited for next year. The early enrollees are already on campus. Heck yesterday our new kicker was kicking 62 yarders in the new IPF. Everything I've read, Coach Mac and staff are doing great on the recruiting trail... Now I just read he'll be on the National Champ game telecast doing some live film study. We had a rough end of the year, but I am excited about the direction of the program... Side note: (sorry to go a bit negative) is anyone else concerned that we ended the year exactly like we were being coached by Muschamp again? Did the team just quit? Was Treon really that bad, that Coach Mac could not get more out of him???? While I am excited for the future, I am a little more skeptical than I was before Grier juiced.
Yes .A little too much Muschamp hangover for my taste.Horrible performances after Grier was suspended but I am holding up hope that the main reason was due to bad QB and OL play and all of the dropped balls all year long by the WRs and TEs . This team badly needs an infusion of talent .Recruiting seems to be going well so there is hope. This time of year is tough for me .Havent posted much anywhere on the board.
Did anyone else watch any of the "press room" coverage of the NCG last night on ESPN2? Coach Mac, Muschamp, and a few other coaches were all sitting around dissecting all the big plays in the game. Was actually kind of fun. I may be biased, but sure felt Coach Mac was giving the most useful commentary.
Unfortunately I was stuck with a stream originating in the UK. Good game never the less. Clemson could have won that game without the loss of Alexander at DB .Most of the Tides big plays came on that side. The TE rode free all night.
Recruiting has taken a hit after the poor performances late in the season.Several of the top WRs dont want to play with Treon Harris and who can blame them. The other QB candidates are all unknown and unproven.
That and Grier's transfer. Thus, they don't know anything about the QB to throw them the ball. I don't believe Harris will be throwing the ball at Florida. Hence my comment that they don't know anything... Grier's juicing really hurt this team. Not only in 2015, but for the 2016 recruiting. I am hopeful we show some signs of life this year and then boom we are off to the races in 2017. Even with some of the wr's wavering, I think our biggest recruits are already on campus in Franks and the K (shoot just blanked on his name). Hopefully Mac can pull a few surprises on Wed...
The FG kicker was a good get too .Amazing what 3 points can do in a close SEC game . I just wish Grier would have taken his medicine and stuck around but he didnt want to risk not being the starting QB when he got back.
New WR recruit https://www.seccountry.com/florida/the-story-behind-tyrie-clevelands-commitment-to-florida Pretty good highlights
Who do you guys think will take the starting QB roll next year? I'm ready to move on from Harris but he's really the only one on the team with any experience. I think Harris could be a decent option at QB in a different scheme, He's just not going to cut it as a drop back passer. I think that Del Rio will probably get the nod as a starter while letting Franks learn from the sideline. I'm really excited for Franks. From a really small town in Crawfordville, which is where my Girlfriend is from. So I really want to see him succeed. Even trying to use his hometown to switch her from a LSU fan to a Gator fan lol. I was looking over the recruitment class, and i'm pretty impressed. Highest ranked RB and 2nd ranked WR. It looks like our Offense should take a step forward but our Def probably wont be as good as it was last year.
Everyone is going nuts over our new kicker I find it really funny. In the spring game he made a 56, 52, and 46 yarder. Missed a 53, and a 52. What a freakin leg. Also wearing #15 he's going to be a legend. PINEIRO SHOWED ABILITY BEYOND A YOUTUBE TRICK-SHOT ARTIST
Finally the Gators havea good kicker .It was painful to watch last year.Worst kicking I can remember. It looks like there is a lot of depth at QB this year .Luke del Rio looks like a good one and I have heard Trask is a hidden gem, no one expected him to show such promise.

Wow. Have not been in here for a while and there is some action! I like the new kicker. but let's remember Hardin was a stud coming in too. Missed some kicks and then it went to his head and he lost all his confidence. I hope that doesn't happen, but I want to see him in some games. Sounds like Del Rio is going to be the starter. AT least to start the season. I like it. Has a couple years left and sounds like he has been playing well. I can't wait to see what Coach Mac does with Del Rio. I'm really excited for the future of this team!
I haven't gotten though the whole spring game yet but Del Rio has been impressive. Accurate and gets the ball out quickly. On the other hand Appleby looks just as unimpressive to me. I think i'm more excited about the Gators this upcoming season so far than the Dolphins.
As of right now, definitely more interested in the Gators than Phins. Partially because the Phins have not had a draft yet. I'll probably get pretty excited about them once they get some more new faces. I am really excited to see what Gase can do. Sort of like Coach Mac Last year. First time in a long time I have hope that both of my teams have real coaches.
Basically I see them both as being in similar situations .Both teams collapsed at the end of the season .Rebuilding Mode.
I'm not sure rebuilding in college is quite the same as rebuilding in the pros. Key production from one or two players can make a big difference in the college game. In the pros you typically need more production from most of the players...
The false rumors put to bed ,it looks like Hargreaves will be drafted before our pick .My guess is Tampa.

The SEC led all conferences in NFL Draft selections for the 10th straight year, and the Florida football program once again contributed to that streak. UF’s seven draft picks tied Alabama for the most among league schools, and the Gators still lead the SEC in first-round selections after Thursday’s results. And that s not adding Driskell or Brisett . .......
It was a good draft. Lost some good players. Really sad Hargreaves was gone before our pick. Then again, had NO idea Tunsil would have been there. Jon Bullard going to Chicago is good for them. I think he will really surprise people and be a great pro. He was always making plays. Shocked about Brissett and Driskell. Hope they do well. I just bet Driskell looks like a bum when he starts getting any kind of rush. Kid just does not know when to get rid of the ball.
I was trying to explain that to Club members .Driskell looks great in practice which is why he beat out Brisette . In the SEC however he was a deer facing headlights .No pocket presence and he couldnt feel where the pressure was coming from . He wasnt facing that type of pressure at Tech. He is a nice guy though and I wish him well.
And Bullard was under drafted. Pretty low pick for a pick for player who will be starter for many years.
ESPN Colts reporter Mike Wells reports fourth-round ILB Antonio Morrison ran his 5.1 40-yard dash at Florida's Pro Day "four days after having a catheter taken out of his chest." Morrison was recovering from a staph infection that sidelined him at the Combine. Per Wells, doctors "urged" Morrison not to run at the Pro Day. Colts coach Chuck Pagano wasn't deterred by the slow time, and instead came away impressed with Morrison's toughness. "The guy is a great competitor," Pagano said. "You just put the tape on, and after a couple plays, it’s like, wow." Morrison will compete with Sio Moore, Nate Irving and Josh McNary for time at inside 'backer.
