Our running game will be better next season than it has in years. We have 4-5 legitimate starters at RB right now. Throw that in with an improved Oline and Tebow will definitely not be the only running threat.

Also, as far as WRs go. Don't forget Louis Murphy who started all last season is returning, plus we will see double TE sets with Corneilius Ingram coming back and the beast that is Aaron Hernandez. Offense will definitely be hard to stop.

Top College athlete basically, he's only the 5th football player to win.

I expect Louis Murphy to be our #1 WR not named Percy Harvin.

I've thought more about the Harvin injury, and I think this will actually be a good thing for a few reasons.
Hopefully what Meyers says is accurate, and he'll be full strength by the season opener. Either way, w/o the surgery he's going to be injured off and on (more on) all the time. Keeping my fingers crossed that this actually "solves" the problem.

Also, this offense needs a good amount of time w/o Harvin. At the end of last season, we became too dependant on him to make plays. Tebow moved the chains, and Harvin made the plays. There's simply too much elite talent on offense to need to give Harvin the ball 20 times a game. He's just not going to hold up under that heavy of a load (even though that kind of game would have given us one or two more wins last season).

I'm getting excited about all the Rainey news. If he's really at 170+ lbs., he could make a major impact (but that also means my boy won't get many more touches  ).

Agreed, we definitely need to spread the ball around more. Murphy is a great deep threat and hopefully Thompson can play his way onto the field this season. CI and Hernandez need more touches and I'm really excited to see what Williams and Moody can do at RB. I've always liked Mon Williams I hope he can stay healthy this season.

i'm looking forward to this year

I'm actually going to get the collegiate football package on my direct TV to watch all the gator games. :) I can add that to my already-existing NFL Sunday Ticket to watch my beloved Dolphins.

This will be my 3rd year for both packages. ESPN Gameplan is pretty nice, no HD though.

Usually works out to be about 5 games that aren't televised nationally.

Well, I get screwed by being so close to Jax. So I have to have Sunday Ticket, but I am rather fortunate with Gator games. I go to about half the home games, and see the rest on TV :D

I hope that I'm in that boat as well. Will be trying to make as many games as I can while I'm living so close, since I will be gone in 4-5 yrs (damm military moves lol).

I check the Scout and Rivals boards once in awhile. The Gatorsports.com boards have alot of students on there so you get some behind the scenes stuff sometimes.

Overall, most the important stuff gets posted here. We have a pretty good core group of Gator fans here.

Aye, what I gathered, I was more of a lurker on the old boards, since that thread was extremely long.

I am really glad to hear about Rainey! I was so excited about him last year and now all this is great! I think he can have the same succes as Percy had at RB. The speed with him and Percy on the field is crazy.

Great read on Rainey, will just make it even harder for defenses to match up with all the playmakers we'll be putting on the field this year.

I am sure they both can Harvin nor Rainey will be overworked. Harin especially! Too many good RB's for them not to get carries. However u can't acount for injuries

The only fear of being overworked is Tebow, and that should lessen with a better RB corps. Harvin seems to get injured as soon as he's healed

I'm pretty excited to see how the Pouncey twins play together. The OL may the the unit that benefits the most from cohesiveness and chemistry. Mike Pouncey obviously has all leadership you could ask for. I think (hope) he will be the catalyst for some aggressive run blocking. Maurkice will definitely benefit from Mike's presence, and that may impact the offense more than Rainey or Harvin.

Our OL didn't hold up last year under pressure, and you better expect to see more of it in '08. Teams aren't going to wait and read Tebow anymore; not after that Michigan game. Rainey and Harvin will be irrelevant if that isn't corrected.

I can't wait to see "how" he runs win the ball. Stride length, initial acceleration... but that's just tough to comprehend.

Do you have the link on that one?

From what I have been hearing is that Mon Williams is making a serious push at being the starting RB. Aaron Hernandez is very impressive! Carl Moore is also coming along very nicely!

I wasn't aware of the bolded part, although it does seem like we take pretty good care of the ball, Moore excluded. :D
