I swear I glanced over this person and thought it said (214 *** Jackson, CB Cal Poly)... but it's Asa Jackson.
I hate Todd..... I thought for a second Paul had picked and I was up but then realized it was another post by Todd... ****
Once we're done the 7th round in the draft. You guys will have until Thursday to create a write up/presentation on your line of thinking and starting lineup. Thursday will be the first round of votes (Machivelli, Vengeful Odin, SICK, Schisno) Friday will be round two along with the four judges, the four who did not make it through will be able to vote. (8 Voters) Saturday will be the finals (10 voters) It will be a secret vote, as the judges will send to me their votes for each matchup and some critiquing. I will then post the winners, and critiques from the judges.
WTF, that site's not taken?! I'm so buyin it. Sky's the limit for that one. #2 Miss America might give me a few bucks or free sex no doubt! (only thing crowing on her'll be the beads I.... nevermind)
Not at all. Started it at 10:30ish...took about 2 hours in between fap sessions. So it was basically a 15 minute write up
Boik and Paul I noticed you both didn't get Nose tackles but are running the 3-4 how do you think your defense can survive without a key element in that kind of scheme?
So we go off assumptions you pull a NT out of FA? Damn If I knew we were going to keep adding to this I wouldn't have centered around a strategy based off 1 draft pick.
There's no actual free agency for this, people will just say they will address the position via free agency. It's a bold move because whose to say that a top tier free agent would want to come to an expansion team? That's just my two cents but everyone has a different opinion.
Well I think its kind of a cop out. I'm not going to address position x because I would go after position x in FA. I asked a question why some teams ignored a position if they give that answer that is pretty ridiculous.
Well it's 24/53 players on our roster... I understand where you're coming from but there's only so much you can do. And this is coming from someone who has every starting position filled other than fullback, kicker, and punter. Granted they aren't my ideal starters but starters nonetheless.
What if we add to it then? Not actually sign Free agents but add a wish list what your team would do if they were able to get Free agent x? It might help shape more rosters then. Might be too late for something like that but could work. Also I wasn't planning on going after every position because I planned the Expansion drafted based off getting Weeden so I went Oline heavy I just decided I might as well fill out every position now that were drafting every round.
Not up to me, man... schisno wanted to get this wrapped up but I am sure he has notes to make it better in the future if he chooses to do it again.
I addressed that in my write up. I said building an expansion team is a multiple year project. It's not possible to build a contender from the ground up in one offseason so my goal was to be set at as many positions as possible. If I run a 3-4 and get useable vet at NT like a Kelly Gregg who can play there for a year til I find replacements that's what I'm looking to do. I have good players at some of the core positions and depth at some of the core positions. That's what I set out to accomplish. If you noticed I did something Bill Parcells subscribed to and doubled up at a few positions.
yep, this... I said the same thing in my write up. It's a different approach than what some of us did. I guess it's up to the judges to decide which approach is better. I tried to go BPA most of the way and if I had a third DE or a third CB ranked higher than a starting NT or starting ILB, that was the way I went. I would have drafted Taamu at NT if he was there. But once he was off the board, I didn't like any of the other NT's at my remaining draft slots. I value the positions as well based on how many plays they average per game. I just think you are going to see that 3rd DE and 3rd CB on the field for more plays than a starting NT / ILB, especially with the likelihood that I'll run even four man fronts half the time (at least).
to add, there is nothing in the rules that said you had to fill your team a certain way. So suck it LA.
Exactly, its a talent acquisition game BK. To field any starting lineup would have been easy, all you have to do is just fill the 11 spots on both sides of the ball regardless of how good or bad the players your getting are. But this is an expansion team you are building from the ground up. So while we are all likely to get a 2-14/3-13/4-12 type season out of the gate there is a difference in that my team will have more talent then others and have less holes to fill next offseason and thats in spite of drafting against Paul who I knew would have a similar thought process to my own.
