I understand that teams can change from year to year. I just don't get the idea that you will be the first expansion team ever in any of the 4 major sports to win a title within a 3 year window you have for manning when no expansion team has even done it within a 5 year stretch. So not only are you setting a precedent but it won't even be close? That just doesn't make sense.
it would be interesting to see how free agency impacts our teams here. perhaps next time schisno, we can figure out a way to implement a free agency bidding process into it?
Its not about winning a ring right away, its about winning and starting an expansion team in the right direction. Winning+ more fan interest= revenue and more interest in free agents IMO. Without a high draft pick none of the other QBs did anything for me value wise, or overall talent wise. In all honesty who's to say next yrs draft the Herd dont take a stud QB in the early rounds or the yr after if Kellen really is the dud he's projected to be. I pride myself on being the Jerry Jones of the Gm Leagues, I want to win and I want to win now baby. If you have a successful team and you continue to add to that successful team its a proven method.
Dontari Poe, my 2nd round pick?? Looks like Mike Mayock can't stop gushing about him. "Star of the day". "What you see on the tape matches up to the measurables." "Coaches enjoyed the meeting with him." "All Pro some day." "10 yard split matches up with outside linebackers." -- 6'04 346 * 4.87 best forty time. WHAT?! * 1.68 10 yard split (Cam Johnson was a 1.66 for comparison) * 44 reps on bench * almost a 30" vertical at 346? * 4.56 20 yard shuttle at his size? You kidding me?! Kendall Reyes, my 2nd 2nd round pick? Mayock called him "the value of the day" and should be in 1st round consideration and would be tremendous value in the 2nd round? hmph. --- 6'04 299 * 4.79 best forty time. WOW!! * 36 bench * 34.5 vertical at 300 lbs? you s***ing me? * 4.53 shuttle. (as good as half the LBs) * 9'05 broad jump at 300? dayum 3rd round: Bruce Irvin, my future WOLB: --- 6'3 245 * 4.43 best forty. * 1.54 10 yard split. #1 at DL. Zach Brown ran 1.52. * 6.70 three cone. #4 regardless of position (All time LB best: 6.58). * 4.03 shuttle. #4 regardless of position. (All time LB best: 3.96) * 10'03 broad jump. #7 for DL/LB. Ronnie Hillman, 4th round RB. (the COP receiving back I was criticized for taking) --- 5'08 200 (bigger & faster than Isaiah Pead) * 4.45 forty. #2 for RBs. * 1.5 ten yard split. #1 at RB so far. * 37" vert. #4 at RB. * didn't need to do shuttle or 3 cone. Demario Davis, 7th round. (That 7th round 3x All-Sun Belt linebacker I was given a hard time for b/c I didn't take a practice squad QB instead??) ---6'2 235 * 4.53 best forty. * 10'04 broad jump. #2 for LB * 38.5" vert. #2 for LB * no shuttle or cone times posted yet Andre Branch with a 1.56 10 split (#2 amongst DE)... and 10'00 broad jump. (no cone or shuttle time so far). Honestly, what is this talk about me "at some time needing to take the physically gifted player over the character guy"? If I'm penalized for it, I'd like it explained to me, please. How much more physically talented do I need to get for it to not be an issue?
