One step forward two steps back.
Now we're gonna give up a TD
I don't know what Thomas did there. Espn's fantastic coverage didn't show it.
However, if you want to talk about "doing things the right way". It's time to move on from, or at least reduce playing time significantly for Julius Thomas.
And thats how you lose games 101.
Howard almost knocked that out.
I'm not sure what Reshad Jones is doing on that TD, but uh, he's just wandering around lost and started that play right in the throwing lane that TD pass went through.
It is spectacularly amazing how inept this team is, year after year, coach after coach. The same units, year in and year out are bad.
It is mind bottling.
Welp, looks like game to me. They'll get the ball back to start the 2nd half and likely will put up some points too, making it a 2 or possibly, 3 possession game.
Smokin' Jay trying to throw the game away.
So once again, we have a week with inconsistent complementary football. Defense makes a nice stand and Cutler throws a pick in our own half of the field, then defense can't dig us out because they were just on the field.
lol this team ****ing sucks. the faster you guys can realize this the less you can start to care. havent watched the team all that closely much at all tonight because i realize they suck and when you realize they suck it becomes a lot more entertaining
If we can iron things out and make some adjustments at halftime this game is entirely winnable.
What an undisciplined team.
Not enough football players. Too many guys treating their job in Miami as a semi permanent vacation. Seen the same thing coach after coach. At some point, you've got to point the finger at the players. At least Gase has been a guy to do that, and give guys the boot. I'll give him credit for that. Before anyone says well "what about (insert player name here)"... you can only do so much in this league, you just can't replace them all at once. You can however do what you did with Ajayi and try and send that message. When you've got guys like Pouncey though, mailing it in. Bushrod. Stills, especially when it comes to blocking. Cutler. There's not alot you can do. Offense needs, and will likely get that major overhaul in a few months time.
So how about them Hurricanes !
Gase needs to make Thomas the next 'example' and cut him loose. It was a gamble on a once good player that didn't work out.
Defense was put in a tough spot, but added a stupid offsides penalty to give the Panthers another chance if they needed it on third and goal. Even better the Panthers can add another TD to start the second half before Miami even sees the ball again.
Thanks for the great advice. Apparently though, you still care enough to come here to share that with us.
It’s funny that people think we are in the hunt for the playoffs hahahaaha
All these faults lie at the feet of Gase he’s proving he’s not a top their coach. Do not quote injuries every team has them and some worse than use and they manage to be competitive. We suck on all three phases of the game and I’m tired of the player this and that. Your coaching like ****. Put a rookie QB in than **** give us something to hope for!
Completely agree! Cancel his plane ticket and leave his *** in Carolina.
I'm with you here. They didn't show, or comment on what the flag was for. Maybe here at halftime I'll rewind to see if I can see what he does. It if was egregious though, yeah, he's got to go. There's been too many plays we've all seen this year that go to easily show he's not worth a roster spot here.
I think the big problem, and reason Thomas is a bit "untouchable" though at this point is the fact were so shallow behind him. Fasano isn't what he once was. He's a decent blocker still, but he isn't going to provide you much in the passing game anymore. So what do you do? It's not like there's another option.
Adam Gase continues to play Thomas AND call plays for him.
Adam Gase is just as much as part of the problem.
Oh yeah? You can't say don't blame injuries unless you can show me a team this year on their backup QB (ill even ignore the fact we dragged ours out of retirement) who's doing better than we are? Who's more competitive? Green Bay? Because they've done well with their backup, right? Are they not allowed to blame injuries? And, before you say it, of course, Tannehill isn't Rodgers.
We have a guy that CAN win 1-on-1 in Parker and we never call plays for him. Not enough anyways.
Hahaha you funny
I hate that these games are so predictable. Even more so during prime time games. We suck in prime time and get to see all these promos for the other teams players.
I believe Miami could be better than they are.
Miami hasn’t won games because Adam Gase is some sort of wiz. Teams have given them away.
Additionally, the constant slow starts with Tannehill last year and this year...
Gase has a built in excuse, but yet he’s shoved it down our throats how much all of these guys are great and how talented they are. At some point, they guy has to be at fault.
Miami can’t make the same mistake they did with Sparano. This team still has a LONG way to go, including their two best players getting old (Suh and Wake). They need to rebuild on the fly.
I agree. Julius Thomas is done. He's been short arming throws all season, and several in first half. Then he throws a terrible pick at the end of the first half. We need to cut Thomas tomorrow.
Thomas is a poor blocker and now he can't run routes or consistently catch passes. His value is minimal. Bring up a player from the practice squad of any NFL team if necessary. Even a pure blocking TE would add more VALUE to the team than what Thomas brings now. I'd rather try and find a diamond in the rough at TE then keep giving Thomas playing time that he clearly does not deserve.
Xavien Howard sucks.
Zzzz 24-7 coming up
I'm going with 6-10 this year. Who's with me?
Well, I don't think Gase told Jay to throw that ball to Thomas regardless of 3 black jerseys there. That's not on your coach, that's solely on your QB.
There have been plays called though to Thomas. Absolutely. Obviously are TD is one, it worked barely, but only barely because Bushrod whiffs on his block.
The deep ball to Thomas... he's got the size mismatch. He runs by his man, he's wiiiide open, but the QB misses the throw, and because Thomas just isn't as athletic as he once was he can't adjust to it, and it's a failed play. That's again though, not on your coach. That's on your QB for missing the throw, and your TE for not making the catch, albeit, maybe slightly tough.
At some point, guys have to start making plays, and start winning their matchups. They're in positions to make plays, they're just not good enough to get it done.
I'm not absolving Gase here. There's clearly issues he's got to fix, but I don't think he's the major problem here. It's this roster. Too many guys here on vacation, rather than here to work. That will be shown pretty clearly I think when this thing gets overhauled in the offseason.
I can’t say this enough. Stewart has been SO BAD this year. This will be his best game all year, guaranteed.
This defense isn’t good and 2 decent games won’t cover that.
Most teams that lose a starting QB suck ***. Green Bay sans Rogers, Colts sans Luck, Texans sans Watson, last year Raiders sans Carr in playoffs. Injuries in general? Not an excuse. QB injury? Not necessarily an excuse, but **** generally goes sideways.
Even Tommy Boy's one injury year? Oh, Cassell did well? Yeah, the one year they didn't make the playoffs lol.
Gase isn't jumping offside and throwing **** *** picks.
Agree with everything you have said. Give it a few days and you will see the people who have their heads in the sand talk how we are going to make the playoffs lol. But, Gase isn’t anything special. This team has a very long way to go. We are probably 4 good drafts away from being a contender.
Why don't we keep Hayes in there.Branch sucks
Kiko Alonso has had the 2 worst games I think I have seen a LB play ever in a Dolphins uniform. That is not hyperbole.
