Smart move on Whipple's part.
Thats good to hear. So Michigan is out of the picture. Let's hope one UM's loss is another UM's gain. I think Randy closes here.
Coach Whipple seems to know what he is doing.....finally I have this good feeling again being a Hurricane fan.
2005 - 5 Star Busts
Very sobering words.
By the way, did anyone see this.....
Very sad. But why would the SF Chronicle pick up this story ? More UM hate
Its all over the Herald and Sun Sentinel as well. Leave it to the AP to not get their facts correct again though. Rios is not just suspended, he was kicked off the team before this incident. I have a feeling Haith may have known he was headed for trouble and got rid of him before it became an issue.
Even when the coach gets it right, the media still has to screw it up.
Well CNNSI had a story on their front page yesterday about how we were losing recruits and how things in Miami weren't looking so good. At the same time they had the story Mandel wrote about how Miami remains a beacon of hope in troubled times.
By my last count, it's Florida who has lost 4 blue chippers in recent weeks and not us and they are coming off their second MNC (Mythical National Championship) in 3 years.
And people say we are just paranoid about the hater media....
Oh by the way....how many of you guys think the ESPN "story" about the Miami program that is set to air before the Labour Day game will be "fair and unbiased" ? I can't wait for that one
Not me, they can be total UM haters over there sometimes. Last year their so called football analyst Robert Smith was commenting on how "over the years, Miami has put together some of the best teams money can buy." Herbstreit just looked at him in shock.

Robert Smith is a hater, and will remain a hater. He's from Ohio St, and has no room to talk. Tressel is as dirty as they get.
Anyone remember where the speech in that video came from?
Al Pacino, Any given Sunday.
Our basketball team sucks again.
I'm not sure they make the NIT this year. Frank Haith has to be on the hot seat.
If he doesn't get fired we're sending the wrong direction to the future of the program.
I agree, but where do we get his replacement ? The Miami program is still considered a grave yard job.
Hall is announcing today at 1om.
Even though its 50/50 between us and Ohio State - I say it's about a 10% chance we land him. We just don't pull kids out of OSU's backyard.
Just read on CanesTime he will be a Suckeye
And so begins the meltdown on Rivals.
I swear - I lose about 10 points to my IQ every time I go on there this time of year.
I hear ya bro.
Ferman is not helping matters either when he floats out a rumor about how the Gayturds have have flipped four star DT Luther Robinson.
The next two days are going to be crazy with rumors about guys flipping here and there. The sky will be falling blah blah blah. And I'm the sick **** who actually enjoys this.
Remember Ed Reed ? Rated a 2 star guy.....its turned out pretty good for him hasn't it ? Don't worry.....Randy will get us a some good kids.
Ed Reed was a 2 star recruit huh?
Wow.... never knew that.
By the way I just saw Hall to OSU is official although you guys prob. already knew that.
This Bryce Brown situation is beginning to smell a bit funny to me. Not going to go as far as calling the kid another Patrick Johnson/Peterson but a part of me is saying "we don't need you kid." We have Miller from Killian who I'd bet my left arm played against more elite competition that Brown ever did and James is already enrolled.
For those of you that dont remember - Johnson who is now known as Patrick Peterson was an elite CB from Ely who committed to us only to bow out late and sign with L$U. Details of the situation were sketchy but in the end - his entire family relocated to Louisiana where his dad got a job as an assistant coach at a nearby elite HS where his other son is playing. Rumors are that some money exhanged hands too. Doesn't surprise me considering reputable sources have told me the same took place with Dwayne Bowe when Saban was coach.
Judging from how the media covers Miami, the last thing we need is for some scandal like this to break out. Being that it's Miami - if there are rumors - we will be guilty until proven innocent and the NCAA will be all over us again. No thanks
Tomorrow cannot come soon enough.
Still wouldn't shock me to see Bryce Brown go elsewhere.
If he does and signs show that we backed off towards the end like we did with Johnson - then we know something wasn't quite right.
What puzzles me is that we had to deal with this Brian Butler guy last year when we were recruiting Bryce's brother Arthur who committed to us 2 days before signing day at a ceremony at his school. That process was smooth and ultra secretive with little to no information coming out. There was no mention of Brian Butler's website, no interviews with the media - nothing.
All of a sudden this year - this guy Butler has taken a more prominent role, he's all over the place doing interviews and promoting his site that you can access here.
At this point all parties involved have said on record that Bryce has not decommitted from us. If that's the case - why drag this out past NSD??
I'm not sure what this guy Butler's intentions are but the situation is beginning to irritate me.
Yep, he was signed in 1998 the year after we went 5-6 and many thought at the time was one of the weakest Miami classes ever, and will eventually end up with as many as 2 NFL HoF players (Reed and Johnson) and maybe more.
WTF is wrong with me???
30 year old working professional and here I am on a Tuesday night on a website hitting the refresh key for my web browser repeatedly waiting to see where an 18 year old kid from Jacksonville has decided to go play college football.
Someone punch me - I need help!!!
Apparently we've lost out on Peter White (4 star OL) to Maryland.
Sam Barrington (the 18 year old from Jacksonville) is going to USF.
Not a good start for us.
We need to have a solid day tomorrow with no defections (Luther are you listening?!?!?) and a few surprises (I'm talking to you Kayvon) as well as the obligatory 5 star stud-shocker (Please Sheldon - do you wanna be a hometown hero or perennial pro bowl TE??)
And to you Bryce - do what you gotta do - hope you had fun. We'll be fine with or without you.
Good night guys. Tomorrow will be a long day for me - GO CANES!!
I'm so over that guy Bryce. I wish we could just tell him, "Come with us great, but if you don't choose us, too bad for you"
BB Squared = Bad News
Like I said yesterday, this Butler guy just wants to get paid.
Stay away Randy.
After reading that article and seeing the CFL comments I am in the official Brian Butler is a douche bag camp. He says he is helping get Colleges to notice more local players, but he is only in it for the many and does not have the players interests at heart.
At this point, especially if it is true about Butler instructing the Brown brothers to shut it down once they have huge stats in a game I could care less if Bryce signs with us. That is not conductive to a TEAM game and I do not want ME players on my squad.
Lamar Miller and Mike James will suit me just fine and the talent coming out of South Florida at the skill positions next year especially at RB is just sick.
