There are four games left after this one: Baltimore, New England, Minnesota and the Jets. If we win tonight and don't collapse against the Jets on the last week, beating Minnesota and Baltimore (neither of which is going to be easy) would leave us at 10-6 if we lose to the Patriots. While that may not be enough to make the playoffs as a wild card, I would consider it progress. If we end up short of 10-6 I think Philbin is gone.

like Alex said, if we go 4-1 (and make sure we beat Baltimore) we will very likely have the WC spot locked up. Going into New York on a Monday night is going to be difficult no matter what their record is. The advantage we have is Lazor (vs Sherman last season). I have more faith in Lazor finding creative ways to move the ball down the field. The Jets secondary is a disaster, we need Tannehill to take advantage of that.

Just got off the phone with my season ticket rep, reserved my home playoff tickets. Hopeful thinking right? lol Let's take care of business tonight, it's not gonna be easy but this is a game we have to win if we want to be contenders. LETS GO, It's Monday Night Football baby.

We've played some good defenses (Packers, Jaguars, Lions, Bills, Broncos) since then and had a lead at some point of the second half in all of them. Lately I've been more concerned about this defense that plays very well until the 4th quarter when they wilt against good offenses. I think we will beat the Jets because all they have is a running game, and our defense will come out wanting to show everyone we can stop the run after the Denver game. IMO, we wil be able to put up points against them easily... if we can stop the run, take care of the football, not make any stupid mistakes (in all 3 phases), this game is ours. -

We've got this one and will WIN BIG
LET'S GO FINS !!! -
Lets do this!!!
We've played well in every game in the national broadcast type scenario. Got to do it again tonight, put the Jets and Rexy out of their misery.

Bottom line tonight in my opinion is that if our offense comes out strong this will be a route. If its close and Geno doesn't have to throw too much they stand a better chance.

Heading to MetLife tonight with my son. This will be my first Jet-Dolphin game in 35 years and my first visit to this stadium. I last went to a Jet-Phins game back in 1980, a Monday nighter at Shea Stadium. I have attended about Dolphin 10 games in my life, All in Florida. I have lived in N.Y my entire life, the thought of being surrounded by so many Jet fans, as I cheer on my beloved Dolphins, has NEVER appealed to me. Thanks to my son's constant pestering about going tonight, I gave in and got the tickets. Luckily, we will be sitting together with over 1,100 other Dolphin fans in our section!....The main reason my son wants to go( and the only reason I agreed to take him). I can only pray that the Phins take care of business and make this a night to remember. A loss tonight, normally makes for a bit of depression. Being there and losing...Well, rather not think about it.

I've paid basically zero attention to the Jets this year. So I didn't realize until now just how bad they are. 30th in points per game. 28th in points allowed per game. 30th in point differential per game. They've played a tough schedule. But still, pretty bad. We should be favored by a significant margin even on the road. But this is the goddamn Jets. I'll be worried until we're up by about 28 in the 4th quarter.
-
If they beat us we need to march to Philbin's house with torches and pitchforks.
-
Ok, so what's the injury statuses tonight? James okay? Still a chance for finnegan? How about Mo wilkerson?

I imagine were all on the same page with the fact that if we truly are relevant , we beat the Jets like the trash that they are. I get all the "Division rival " talk and the "Jets play us tough" talk, but if we are even remotely for real, WE GET IT DONE TONIGHT. This is december , where the real teams make a stand and play their best football. No excuses, Lets Do This.
