Today should be pretty busy with it being National Signing day so I made the thread. let me get it started with some great news! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/03/AR2009020303524.html I heard he was a Gator lean for quite some time so this is great news. He is going to dominate and he is only 16 *Edit - For Gator fans to keep up with who has signed! You can also access other teams thru same page. http://florida.rivals.com/commitlist.asp?sport=1&school=21&year=2009#page3
Yea, this class is not as hyped as the 08 but hype means very little. Jamal Berry will be an all american write that down.
So far Miami has Stephen Plein, Prince Kent, Jamal Reid, Malcolm Bunche, Ray Ray Armstrong and Dyron Dye.
Andre Debose LOI is in!!! He is a Florida Gator! *Edit Times for all the players still left on the Gators board. 10:00 - G. Brown 10:20 - J. Evans 10:55 - J. Jenkins 11:00 - F. Telfort 1:00 - M. Teague 1:00 - N. Richardson 1:30 - J. Jones 3:00 - D. Kirkpatrick 3:45 - M. Brown 5:00 - T. Richardson
im kinda bummed Brown commited to the Gators i thought he may switch to the good guys. oh well, we did take Greg Ried from you guys. Big commit for FSU! GO NOLES!
Congratulations to Gators fans on the signing of Jelani Jenkins. Great talent and your next dominate linebacker. If he stays healthy, yes. He has some durability issues.
Better than that .Live coverage in ESPNU http://www.justin.tv/rushvsn Marlon Brown decided for Georgia
Really he said that? What happens if FSU ends up recruiting a bunch more good dbs? Going to transfer? That is a surprising comment. Especially since Meyer has shown he will play the best player regardless of age.
11:00 - F. Telfort USC 1:00 - M. Teague UT 1:00 - N. Richardson UT 1:30 - J. Jones USC 3:00 - D. Kirkpatrick Bama 3:45 - M. Brown Geogia These guys signed elsewhere
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=24889 Thats why he dropped the Gators.Meyer told him straight out he had to beat the guys ahead of him and he couldnt promise playing time until he did so
Per ESPN Our most recent class rankings: 1. LSU; 2. USC; 3. Texas; 4. Ohio State; 5. Alabama; 6. Florida; 7. Miami; 8. Georgia; 9. Oklahoma; and 10. Florida State. Of course, these are subject to change before the final rankings come out, but there are only a few big names left on the board. Alabama looks to have been the day's big winner
I am happy with what the Gators brought in. I would have liked to keep Reid, and maybe one if not both of the Wrs that UT stole from us. However, feel pretty good about the team next year.
This a year where the Gators had very few scholarships to offer .To be still ranked in the top 10 it tells you about the quality of those who have committed .On a star average the Gators have the highest ranking in the nation so far. Even with all of the defections its still a great class . Next year is supposed to be a big class and the prospects look great
Mike Gillislee & Andre Debose are going to bring a lot of excitement to Gainsville in the coming years.
Bastards. Oh well, better he freeze his nuts off in Indiana than be a Trojan. I was surprised at that too considering Te'o's Mormon beliefs would mesh better with Norm Chow and the local Westwood church. Now if only you guys can fire Weis so you can cut off that Pacific pipeline. Ranked 16th by rivals.com. Not bad considering what a piss poor job Dorrell left us with. Norm Chow did a heckuva job landing Sua-Filo and Hasiak. I was a bit surprised because Hasiak had soft committed to Cal and Sua-Filo looked Utah/BYU bound. Nearly got Te'o though. But I'm happy especially if Brehaut can replace Craft and Presley impresses at an already deep TE position.
#4 as of this post. As much as I like that, I'm not so sure we belong that high. I'd imagine Carroll could be Austin's (or maybe Slater's if he goes CB) eventual replacement as a PR/KR. That seems to be the emphasis on WR's for this recruiting year. I know we've got much better and taller receivers in Rosario, Moutra, Johnson, and Embree who are just crying out for a better QB to throw to them. Hopefully Brehaut's the man.
Spurrier and my Gamecocks put together a nice class, ranked 11 or 12 by rivals last i checked. just ahead of the Irish on espn earlier. not bad considering all the coaching turnover in the last month. Shane Beamer jumped in and handled recruiting really well when David Reaves left SC to go be with his brother in law Lane Kiffin at Tenn.
ND had it last year if you count players actually showing up. Someone should remind Rivals of there own rankings... http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=843421 http://recruiting.scout.com/2/791292.html
Interesting note from Tom Lemming I just came across. This was one reason he gave for ND's weaker class. Though I'm not really that disappointed w/ it given the year they had last year and how things ended this season. Thought UF fans would also find it interesting, and it could explain (partially perhaps) why UF is towards the bottom of the top 10 instead of the top. Obviously a lot of other factors involved as well, for both schools.
