Poor Toine, goes from one crappy team to another. I know he's getting tired of playing for rebuilding teams.

Damn! I don't want to see Mayo in Memphis. I don't like Love but I do like T-Wolves a lot.

I fail to understand why Minnesota isn't absolutely thrilled w/ Mayo.

Well because he is a SG and we already have enough SG's. I didn't want Mayo.

Plus McHale had a huge hard on for K Love.

That's the same thing I am thinking here. I don't think Love will be as good as some think. The Grizzlies imo got a hell of a trade for themselves in getting Mayo. I think you could make a case for Mayo being the second best player in this draft behind Beasley. I could understand why Minnesota took the deal because they did get Mike Miller back in the deal who is a good player for them but I take Mayo over him. Mayo will be a very good player in this league, I'm not so sure you can say that about Love. I'm really upset at the T-Wolves for making this trade but whatever, it is McHale making the deals.

As for the Grizzlies, they got a pretty nice lineup now.

    Conley
    Mayo
    Gay
    Milicic
    M. Gasol?

They seem to be very high on Marc Gasol because of his toughness. I believe they stated that he will be coming over this season to play in the NBA.

I agree that they should have kept Chalmers who's a good player. I don't know what they plan on doing at the point now. Who is their point? Foye is more of a two-guard.

I think Minny will use Foye at the PG and McCants at the 2. thats their best lineup anyway. Foye isnt a great jump shooter but has a pretty good dribble-drive-dish thing goin on since college. McCants is a decent enough shooter that it wont be bad imo.

Minnesota wanted Love more anyway and they ended up getting the player they wanted and Mike Miller; seems like a good trade to me.

Foye is a horrible PG. McCants wont start, Miller will be starting at SG.

I guess I look at the draft differently. Minnesota isn't going to contend any time soon (i.e. one position of need away), so you've got to select the best player available regardless. Minnesota, IMO, has one starting caliber guard on the roster and that is Randy Foye. McCants is a shooter/scorer - much better coming off the bench, but you need at least three solid guards in this league unless one is a superstar.

O.J. Mayo makes more sense for Minnesota than most people think. If for whatever reason Minnesota was drafting based on need, then Brook Lopez would of been the best fit. I don't even see how Kevin Love fits into the picture. I'm not sold on Love as a center, and Al Jefferson is definitely a 4.

Jefferson is a beast but McHale had a hard on for Love. I believe Minnesota is the worst franchise because drafting Mayo brings some hype to the team.

I thought Miller would be at the three?

Yeah hes a good player. Good defender, clutch shooter and can put up points as well as distribute. Heat got a good player who is probably the second most NBA ready behind OJ Mayo.

    I agree.

They could have played OJ at the three, couldn't they?

If it looks like Chalmers could start it would be him and Wade back court... Marion and Beasley front court....Barron/Blount at center with Haslem 6th man. That looks ok but it depends if Chalmers can play PG and the heat still need a good starting center.

I wouldn't worry too much about Chalmers playing at the PG. He can handle it. The only concern is how long it will take him to adjust to the NBA level. Like KiNG mentioned several times, a lot of people had him as a top fifteen player. I thought Minnesota was given a gift from god when they got him but then they traded him for some reason.

Sounds like an excellent draft then...Just need a center.

If this Darnell Jackson can play he could be the 6th man in a couple of years after Shawn Marion leaves. I will need to get some Kansas games from last season to check Chalmers and Jackson out. There should already be chemistry between those two.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they are going to do at Center. They could go for Diop who has been mentioned several times in these NBA threads or they could trade Marion for Brand/Boozer. One thing I wanted to note is that the Heat have been fielding calls for Marion in the past few days. There have been several teams interested in his services. (I'll get you a link for that in a sec).

I'm not too familiar with Jackson but this is what DraftExpress.com has on him.

There is a short excerpt here about the teams interested in Marion. It's the same thing I have quoted below.

No Miller will be playing SG because Gomes will be playing SF.

Right now this is the line up.

    PG-Foye-Telfair if we resign
    SG-Miller-McCants-Snyder
    SF-Gomes-Snyder-Brewer
    PF-Jefferson-Smith
    C-Love-Richards/Nikk Billic.

I dont have the roster in front of me.

Eh. I want to say that lineup looks rough but I'm not sure how Love pans out and about Gomes. Foye is a 2 as we have stated. I always thought Miller was a three but he can shoot so not much worry about him. Jefferson is a STUD. Where does Craig Smith come out of this? I like him. Is Gomes starting material? I have only seen very little of him.

EDIT: I just noticed you have Brewer as the third three. Wouldn't he start? He was a pretty high draft pick. He's a solid defender.

Telfair isnt a great point, Foye is a better point than telfair. Unless they trade for Hinrich or someone Foye will play Point. Gomes did great last year at SF. Snyder the guy who we got from the Rockets kicked *** also. Nice bench player.

Smith is a beast and should see more minutes in 08. Btw Gomes, Snyder, McCants, and Smith are all Restricted FA.

Yeah Telfair has been a bust. I guess your right about Foye. I like Snyder. He can shoot the three well I believe.

Yeah I like Smith a lot. Damn, I doubt they keep all.

What about Brewer though? I would think he's the three after the high draft pick invested in him.

Brewer's offensive capability's are awful. He is a decent defender but not near enough to be a starter. They need to trade him.... I have a feeling he will be traded next off-season.
