Ok, so what are you looking for? Not much from the 1's. But for me, Grant, Drake and Carroo

Agree with Grant and Drake. I also want to see how McMillan and Harris look.

I want to see Drake, Grant, Brendel, Harris, McMillan, Godshaux (sp?) an Taylor. Also Phillips if he plays.

I am seriously looking to see the back up DL and DBs. I think there is serious competition at DB for roster spots. I think the DL is a matter of do we have the right guys on the roster or do we need to go out and get different players!

It is the first preseason game. I do not understand why people, especially sports writers put any weight on how first stringers play in the first preseason game.
This is the game to look for, "Does Jakeem Grant run better routes? Is Drew Morgan good in live play against lower NFL talent? Does any of the rookie free agents look well with actual time to shine? Did Doughty improve enough to push Matt Moore as back up or worth keeping to develop period?"
The first preseason game, for the most part, is pretty meaningless.Finster, dolphin25 and Redwine4all like this. -

Do we know if Cutler is playing at all tonight? I haven't seen anything, one way or the other.

1's will play like a series right?
Plus it is raining -
Other than that, I want to see how the defense responds with most of our key pieces back in place. -
By the way, the preseason games are an all-time high $99 for our four games on NFL GamePass this season, but they also include a 7-day free trial. So you can watch any one week of preseason games for free and cancel right after watching them. Or if you're the shady type, you can make a new account each week, use four different trials, and watch the entire pre-season for free.
Not that I'd do that, of course...because we all know how badly the NFL needs our hard-earned money.Base of Gase and danmarino like this. -

Remember after last year's first preseason game
Grant looked like a dangerous wide receiver
Doughty looked so good that Miami was not going to be able to stash him on practice squad
Julius Warmsly looked like a star in the making.
Yes, it is exciting that football is back, and I am not trying to diminish any enjoyment of the game. Just remember to watch this game for mostly enjoyment and to see if you might be hopeful for a player.eltos_lightfoot likes this. -
He first flew into town on monday morning and participated in one practice since arriving. He will not be playing. His playing status for preseason game 2 is questionable as well. -
Waiting for the day where you can pay like $200 and get both worlds. I think the NFL might stand to profit more that way.KeyFin likes this. -

Other than that, I'm mostly excited to see some of our newly drafted defensive players in action: Davon Godchaux, Raekwon McMillan, Cordrea Tankersley, and Charles Harris. -
What the **** is Raekwon doing on special teams?

Could it be a worse start? TO before the first play. Two sucky runs, a poor screen, very crappy coverage on the punt and now it looks like Raekwon is hurt...and possibly injured. OUCH!

LOL...I know its preseason. I know it doesnt count. But this is abuse. They have destroyed us through the first drives. Us, 3-out. And it wasn't even close. Them...right down the field. Yikes. Good that it doesn't count. We have ALOT to work on.

Third downs so far has been meh

Charles Harris explosion off the ball is really impressive. This dude has some serious speed off the edge.
Loving it.Sleepy likes this.
