Congrats team USA on setting the RECORD for THE most decisive win in the Ryder Cup (since 1979)!

I'll be back with more thoughts, but if you want to go back and revisit the 2012 or 2014 Ryder Cup threads

We must not have done a thread since then... but now is the time to talk about the RYDER CUP. USA GOING TO BE DOMINANT FOR A WHILE NOW I THINK, with 2023 (Rome) perhaps the first US win on foreign soil since... 1993!

2014 the Euro team had 4 of the top 5 in the world in Rory, Stenson, Rose, and Garcia. My how things have changed since then.

    Random thoughts...

I actually think the President's Cup is more of a challenge these days than the Ryder Cup for this US team.

Aside from Rahm or Garcia, with a sprinkling of Hatton and Lowry, the Euro side was awful.

And I'm a huge Rory fan, my favorite golfer, but I root against him for this event. Seeing him get super emotional was tough.

Padraig Harrington had that same shocked look on his face the whole weekend.

I almost felt sorry for him, not really.

The Euros need an infusion of young talent.

    Just like we needed it.

And boy do we ever have the makings of a solid team going forward.

It started with Spieth, he brought in Thomas... then you have Schauffele/Cantlay... and Scheffler/Bryson

This all seems to be motivating Brooks Koepka in the proper way.

Dustin Johnson had an amazing weekend. He loves that course... can you say redemption after 2010?

The Golf Channel Coverage of the press conferences after the event are always fascinating dynamics. Some cringe moments for the US though... Dustin? Probably should hide the drinks from him.

Haven't even mentioned Collin Morikawa. What an amazing player, and an even better person.

Will Tony Finau continue to progress?

I didn't think much of English or Berger, probably the two least likely to be back in 2 years?

    I did miss Patrick Reed.

Didn't miss Tiger or Phil playing though.

Brandel Chamblee is dead on about those two weighing down the team the last couple of decades. Not that they aren't great players, just not great teammates.

And both are in line to be captains in the coming years.

Hey, I never liked Steve Stricker as a player, but he made a great captain. Maybe Tiger and Phil will be great as captains (Tiger was the President's Cup captain a couple of years ago, a close one down under, only won by 2)
