All negative people claim to be "realists".
Because they can show how "smart" they are when they lose but then be ecstatic when they win.
Most Dolphins fans are Randy Quaid from the movie Major League II.
It goes the other way, too.
Yeah let's compare our injury issues with the Steelers.
****ing SPARE me.
says more about the posters then tannehill
Can you just ban him? He's been doing this instigating crap for the last few years. Every time I see a post from him he's being a dick to another poster.
That's so odd considering he attempted 34 passes that game....
Can't argue with that logic!
So, where is this incredible conference where every team only plays teams with winning records? I kinda get tired of hearing people denigrate our record, because they beat "bad teams." Holy ****, 60% of our games were bad teams? I wonder how other teams stack up in the Played Bad Teams sweepstakes.
Those same people were the ones talking about how brutal our schedule was before the season had started.
To be fair Ajayi caused one of the fumbles. Sucks because Moore was throwing the ball kind of well but those fumbles killed us.
Moore ran into Ajayi trying to leave the pocket. There was no excuse for fumbling that ball.
We played several big boy games and got our *** handed to us in each. Aside from the seahawks game where Russell Wilson couldn't move and same with the first Pittsburgh game when ben was hurt, we crapped the bed and were an embarassment from the first play of the game.
I understand we play mostly bad teams. But you dont see the patriots or teams like the Cowboys or other great teams being the clearly inferior team anytime they play the upper echelon teams in the league.
You guys can explain it away any way you want to, but we arent close to being a super bowl contender, injuries or not. Even with those injuries to our defense our defense was not good in the beginning of the year when they were healthy.
I hate to break it to you guys, but we made the playoffs because we were average and had a 2 month span of playing nothing but bad teams. And again, I hate to break it to you, we could have lost every single game in that long winning streak. Granted, we closed out very well and that is a huge difference from previous years, but you are overrating the team.
The first bills game at home we were down in the 4th quarter with 4 minutes left. In the first jets game at home we were down in the 4th quarter with 5 minutes left. The chargers game we should have lost and Kiko made a great play and stole the game late. The rams game we had no business winning at all. The 49ers game, at home to the 2nd worst team in the league, they had a chance to tie the game on the last play of the game. The cardinals game at home was one of the worst games you could ever see and we easily could have lost this game. The bills game in week 16 should have been a loss as well.
That is 7 games that could have gone either way. Great that we find a way to win unlike previous years, but we are exactly where we have been in recent years, just with better coaching. Sorry to bring this fan base back to reality just because they made the playoffs in a flawed playoff system and a scheduling system that legislates equality for teams that got last place last year.
Albert should be cut. He was bad all year and cant stay healthy. Enough relying on him. If our OL is always in tatters when he is out and he cant be relied on to stay healthy, move on. He was one of the worst rated T's on PFF and was horrendous in both pass and rush blocking. You can argue "he wasnt healthy" as being the reason for his struggles, but he is never healthy. Move on and get more consistency health wise up front. We can not continue to rely on these guys who are continually injured, it literally self destructs this entire offense.
Agreed with the young DE part. Mario Williams will be cut, and the other guys like Branch and Jason Jones were terrible according to PFF.
The LB's are priority number one for the offseason. We just dont have more than 1-2 NFL caliber LB, let alone starting caliber.
Phillips and Mitchell were both graded horrifically on PFF as well. Some of that might be due to the other guys around him, but for Suh to be as dominant and consistently in the backfield like he is and for us to still be that terrible against the run is an indictment on the other DT's, DE's and LB's.
All in all, the defense needs a pretty huge overhaul, but getting healthy will help. No team ever has unreal depth, but our depth is piss poor and it needs to improve. It seems like only the Dolphins can lose 1 guy on either side of the ball and it is such an obvious downgrade and glaring hole. Great teams dont have that. The patriots can lose how many different guys not named tom brady and be ok at those positions? They traded away a great LB in the middle of a super bowl run for a pick and werent significantly worse. We need much better depth all around, especially defensively and on the offensive line.
No need to be so negative, yeah so the fins won 9/10 games against teams with records that were less than .500, and loss 5/6 games to teams with a .500 record or less.

You're suppose to beat the inferior teams, which the Dolphins did most of the time like they should have. Next season will be tougher, but the team didn't fall into the same trap of being a 7-9 or 8-8 team this year.
So if they beat bad teams to get into the playoffs it doesn't count?
Who in here is claiming that the Dolphins ate an upper echelon team? No one. But our wins against some teams, like the Bills, contributed to those teams having bad records.
Miami struggled early, due to new schemes, and struggled at the end due to tons of injuries.
You guys just cant get it through your homer goggles. I'm not saying its not good to make the playoffs. Our year this year was awesome and this isnt the same team with previous coaches. We actually have a good young coach who the players like and people around the league rave about. That is awesome.
And it is great we went 10-6 and had a nice year. But we didnt beat anyone good, and worse off, we looked significantly worse than every good team we played. And it was obvious. IT was why we were a huge underdog to a team with the same exact regular season record as us. Not saying this isnt a team with a bright future, but we are not there yet. That really isnt up for debate.
Our win streak was a complete and utter mirage. We could have lost literally every single game in that win streak aside from the Pittsburgh game which didnt even have the real big ben playing essentially.
We improved from previous years and we have a solid future, but to act like we were anything close to a contender is just foolish and looking at this team through aqua colored glasses.
This is the dumbest post I've read in awhile.
So sorry im not going to act like we are this great team because we made the playoffs due to an easy schedule. So sorry i'm not gonna be blinded by a playoff appearance and act like we are anything close to a contender. What exactly is your argument? Because what im saying is not at all controversial.
Personally, I wish Gase would chill out with some of the scowling and overly expressive disappointment on every bad play.
Dude's job is to motivate these guys. There's a time and place for things like that, but on the sideline in front of national audience it's a bit much.
I'd argue that the turnovers hurt worse knowing that we could have been tied a few minutes into the 3rd quarter if not for the turnovers.
If we beat the Steelers the first time without Ben how did he get credited with 35 pass attempts?
The rest of your post is just as wrong.
Wait what? Moore's first fumble happened towards the end of the 2nd quarter. We were already down 20-6.
You don't even understand how the scheduling works. Yet you want people to think you understand the game?
I meant 3rd quarter
Fumbled inside Pitt's 20. A TD there and it's 20-13. Then he fumbled a few minutes into the 3rd quarter (inside Pitt's 35)....Could have been a 20-20 game if not for those fumbles...
Did you even watch the game?
lol...Yeah, a HC should hand out trophies when a player fumbles.
You're just upset he was angry at your boy all game.... haha
Pretty sure he meant the second HALF.
As for being a marginal playoff team? Yeah, no kidding. We played a ton of games that could have gone the other way. A young team learned how to keep playing and began to EXPECT to find a way to win though. I think most everyone bought into the new coach and system too. Plenty to build on for 2017, when we can hopefully start building some depth, improve the defense, and maybe not get hit so hard with injuries.
The 2008 playoff loss hurt a lot more, as we had won the division and were at home. Went into the game yesterday knowing we needed to play a perfect game and get some fumbles/INTs to keep it close and have a chance at the end. No surprise things didn't break our way.
Yes, we need two more years of good drafts, free agency, and player development to build a legit team capable of a deep playoff run. At least we have taken the first step in turning things around.
Btw, did Suh even get off the plane when it landed in Pittsburgh?
Always love when a $114 million man disappears in our biggest game.
I'm not talking about Moore. I'm talking about all players chief. I didn't like it when he did it Tanny either.
Give the Moore/Tanny bull**** a rest already ... it's TIRED.
I agree with most of this.
Getting the HC right was the thing this franchise has needed for years. Without the right one we were going nowhere.
He was double and triple teamed the entire game. It wasn't him...he played well
Other than a few disgusted looks after Moore was so careless with the football I never saw him do any of what you wrote. But, I'm not overly sensitive so that could be why.
I'm sure you want to give the Moore/Tanny thing a rest after yesterday... lol...I'll happily do that because it should have never been a thing to begin with.
Ben was injured in the first quarter of the game. You're really gonna stake your argument to that being anything close to what he is when he is healthy? We didnt shut him down that game, he couldnt move. The guy was out for the next game and then they had a bye, but he would have missed 2 games.
I know exactly how the scheduling works. Part of the schedule is against the team that finished in the same spot in their division the previous year in their division.
Not sure who thought we were super bowl contenders. Bottom line we played over our heads with this new coach regime. We are probably a legit 8-8 team that when they get good coaching can climb to 10-6 and when they get bad coaching like Philbin can go 6-10. another good offseason like this last one we can become a legitimate 10-6 team even with a tougher schedule.
That only accounts for 2 games a year.
I wasnt arguing that. I was just pointing out between the draft and part of the schedule the NFL in a way legislates equality and that the Phins also got lucky that they had a very weak schedule.
I would say they do it that way to have a uniform approach, not for equality. With the exception of those 2 games, the rest of our opponents are already determined indefinitely for years to come(until they change the scheduling format).
Keep not knowing what's going on.
Ben was hurt right before halftime, not in the 1st quarter and the Dolphins had the lead before he went down. Their back-up came in and attempted one pass on 3rd down and never played again.
Tannehill had a 98 passer rating and Ajayi had over 200 yards rushing. I never knew that Ben affected those kinds of stats. Ben put up basically the same numbers yesterday as he did back in October (19-35-189 yards 1TD 2INT's in Oct...13-18 197 2TD 2INT's yesterday).
