pretty cool for Chetey Petey to do that. The games going to look pretty cool with both home jerseys. Well until atleast 8min in the 1st qrtr when we getting our *** kicked
Well, if Forcier comes in, I think we have a chance. I mean, Craft literally won the game for Arizona State. Dude, you know you're beyond shady when Rick Neuheisel's looking like the honorable one here.
A few U$C taunts I've found (feel free to use em if your team happens to face off against them): U$C is short for any of the following: University of Second Choice, University of Spoiled Children, University of Student Criminals, University of South Central, and University of Stupid Children. My two favorite teams are UCLA and whoever plays U$C. What is the usual greeting from a U$C grad? A: Welcome to McDonald's, may i take your order? What do you call a U$C grad in a 3-piece suit? A: The defendant Why did they name their football team after a brand of condom? A: Because they're all ***** Differences between UCLA and U$C: Average high school GPA of UCLA: 4.2 weighted Average high school GPA of U$C: 3.7 weighted You can walk to Pinkberry's near UCLA. You can visit your parole officer near U$C. When you walk off campus at UCLA, you can see movie stars. When you walk off campus at U$C, you can see police cars. And finally:
why you need all them? all you need to say is "13-9" also, i'm less peeved about the jersey thing at this point. rick agrees that they should go back to how it used to be, and he'll be calling a timeout after sc gets penalized to make it even, so there's some honor in that. apparently carroll tried to reason something out with dorrell a few years back too and it didn't fly with him. anyone going to the game? we didn't get tickets, but we're debating going to tailgate the rosebowl anyway.. though we may just watch on tv and get trashed, we'll see.
For the freshmen I guess. They may be ignorant (well, relative to the other Trojans of course, since they're all ignorant). Honor. Something $C lacks horribly. I got my and my girlfriends tickets ready. As soon as she turns in her essay, we're hitting the carpool.
nice have fun bro. one of our friends (whose fiance is a trojan fan.. ugh) is sitting in the usc studenty section.. he's already preparing for all the fights he is going to get in. i love it
Thanks. If my gf didn't win the student tix lottery, we wouldn't have be able to get in (alumni's are SOL ). It should be fun though I'm wary of a blowout. lol, I haven't gotten in a fight at the Rose Bowl since the Stanford game in 06.
Sigh. When I saw Forcier enter the game, I thought we might turn the corner, but it was only for a Wildcat play... Craft only had 1 pick I think though a lot of near ones. That's like a miracle. Seriously. If this guy's starting next year, I'm going to puke because he is plain unsalvageable. Wounded duck throws under 5 yards and over/behind the WR by 5 yards, throws it into double coverage, etc. Brehaut oughta steal that job outright. Craft lost this game and couldn't stay on the field long enough to give the D a breather. The OL actually gave him time and he throws poorly. We actually bottled up the pass rush pretty well. Verner was off and on but mostly on. Displays great ball skills in breaking up key passes and really can stick to his man (save for that one TD where he thought he had safety help). He can be a great 3rd round pick this year (love to see him in a Phins uni) or he can be a 2nd and up next year. Norris though. I like him, he was a great phy sci lab partner, but he's just too short and slow sometimes (I'm 6'1 and I beat him in sprint lab). Got a pick but really had trouble. LB's just can't go sideline to sideline which all but ruined the great work by the DTs up front. Harwell will be a very solid DT for a Cover 2 NFL team. It's Year 1 of the rebuilding phase for sure. Some news on the Manti Te'o side straight from the horse's mouth:
Troy Aikman Inducted Into College Hall of Fame - Bruin QB honored on Tuesday night during dinner at Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York Congrats to Troy.
ESPN - West Recruiting Blog Awesome news. With Ryan Moya returning, we'll have one of the nations top TE tandems. Can't wait to see what Chow can do with his caliber of talent. Still, I'm hoping $C doesn't take top OL Hasiak because this guy's crucial for us.
He is, though with Moya's rise and questions as to whether he can fully recover from his injury makes me wonder if he'd still have a prominent role on the team. Frankly, someone like Presley could possibly overtake him.
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-uclafb31-2008dec31,0,610312.story Damnit. F New Mexico St. Walker landed a lot of the top secondary we had/have here at UCLA. Above average playcaller but his best suit was in recruiting. Hope Neuheisel can find a good replacement fast. Ken Norton was rumored but that's unlikely after what just happened. Makes Alterraun Verner's departure a little more likely now.
Some recruiting news/tidbits: Receiver Prospect Named Jerry Rice, Jr. http://ucla.scout.com/2/799553.html 5-star PF/C prospect Renardo Sidney checks out UCLA http://www.pe.com/sports/college/ucla/stories/PE_Sports_Local_D_ucla_notes_13.32123b4.html
http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_11444065 It's official now. We get our best CB back and Verner didn't make any sudden change of minds since we last talked. Sorry, alen.
One would be wise to check the date before making a post. And yes, I called Verner just to make sure this article was up-to-date.
UCLA basketball seems to be picking up after a sluggish start (delivering some payback to Notre Dame for stealing Manti Te'o). A good recruiting year that had us in the top 5-15 in most sites. It included much needed OL and QB help (no more seeing Kevin Craft scoring more TD passes to the opposition than his own team I hope) plus potential replacements for playmaker Terrence Austin.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-aikman-collegegraduate&prov=ap&type=lgns One of the reasons I love this school. You'll never know who you'll be sitting next to.
was at the game tonight. honestly, ucla didn't deserve to win with the terrible shooting we were doing, but quite frankly that was some of the worst refereeing i have seen in a long, long time. obviously i believe it was more so against ucla (and i think objectively it was), but calls on both sides were often not made, and when they were, were almost always the wrong call. charges called as blocking fouls all over the place. the entire arena was in disbelief at what these guys were calling. there were numerous times when the ref would call something, then stop, look at the other refs, SHRUG, and make the "i don't know" face. then they would have to have a committee. I don't want to discredit USC for the win, because they did play better, and probably deserved it, but neither team was able to get any momentum at all just because of the awful calls on both sides. i really hope some of these officials get reviewed by the ncaa.
We weren't really into it during the game with lack of effort until it was too late. Wish I could've gone but I had things to do and things to study for. This is not a team that can shoot well or get easy buckets in the post. J'Mison's been out of shape and he was our only hope there. Pac-10 officials are notoriously and relatively bad. I just hope it sparks the team for the rest of the NCAA tourney. With a lot of top seeds falling, UCLA still has company.
I think we can handle VCU. They're poor rebounders and Collison/Holliday match up well with their only threats. But we can't afford to let our guard down. If there's any point where this team can get together, now's about as good a time.
Well, I'm just getting back from UCLA's pro day. There was about 12-14 people I coming in and out (about maybe 38-40 total) and only one GM I could recognize (Green Bay's Ted Thompson). Asked around and really most of them are here just because it's something to do before USC's Pro Day. One guy I recognized from last year who I suspected was a Pats scout was back this time around. Last year the Pats selected Matt Slater. Ben Olson didn't workout and was on crutches (again). Fat chance he'll ever get drafted considering his age and he can't play more than 5 games a season it seems. Bell's been slipping fast in his performances and I gotta believe his injury is holding him back, which is a shame. Tom Blake gained some muscle and benched 31 times. Scouts were really interested in Brigham Harwell (225 pounds bench rep w/ 36 times) and Aaron Perez it seems. One little joke being whispered around is UCLA's gotten a commit from Jerry Rice Jr. and is now pursuing Nick Montana, son of that Montana. And no kidding, he is actually a 4 star prospect at QB.
i wouldn't be surprised if someone picks up kahlil as an UDFA just to see what he can do. if he ever gets fully healthy he could be a servicable pro backup I'd think. maybe someone wants to take craft off our hands...
Yessir. Just need to convince Nick Montana and we'll have Montana-Rice Part II. Probably for now but Brehaut's very impressive though. Much better arm. One of the best QB coaches ever in Chow can coach the rest.
hahaha but UCLA is really thin at QB since Forcier has asked and was granted to transfer out. QB Depth Chart SR-Kraft/Rasshan(does he even count as a QB?) RSFR-Crissman/Prince FR-Brehaut The staffs looking at QB Patrick Witt from Nebraska who is transferring.
