Ok, so you guys may not know this but I am a meteorologist and well I know there is a lot of information out there right now about the forecast in New York for Sunday. Well with everyone's grace I am going to update this thread throughout the week with what the models are saying (leaning heavily on the GFS). Now keep in mind that I am a specialist in the mid-south, but the skills are the same, I just might need help from those local to the New York area with regards to local trending anomalies that I might not be aware of (for example, where I live, if an east wind blows at night then temps will always be lower). So, here is the 18z GFS for what would be the end of the game . . . Now the blue line roughly corresponds to 32 degrees. Now earlier in the day, the model is showing a good deal of rain in the area. This is the map from early Sunday morning. Now this rolls forward for the next six hours giving the New York area over an inch of rain by 11 am. The good news is that the rain looks to be over, but leaving just a wet field at the Meadowlands. As for the temperatures, the rain will herald a cold front and temps will drop throughout the day. At this point in looks like temps will start out around 40 at kickoff and end up around 37 or 36. For those that are going to start complaining about the start time being later . . . well the temperature difference is only about three or four degrees. This is only initial and the forecast WILL change. As such I will try and update twice a day (once on Wednesday and none on Thursday).
a weatherman eh.. I'm weather junkie.. and say, where were you hurricane season Sebo? I create world class hurricane threads and end up with two guys posting in it because they feel sorry for me.. you would have made it a veritable party. Anyway, I think this is a good idea, thanks for putting it up.
Haha, well first of all I suck at hurricanes. lol. Second, I guess I should venture out beyond the mains and club now and then.
As I mentioned the temp will drop throughout the day, so that 52 will actually be the temp very early in the morning. High temps can be very misleading.
