Yeah when Angle said that on Austin's or Flair's podcast a few weeks ago I couldn't believe it. It stinks that so many guys like Sting, Hardys, Styles, Joe, Angle spent so much time in TNA that the majority of wrestling fans missed out on seeing them for so long.

Just went back and read some of the Cena/Ryback stuff. I never met Cena but I haven't ever read or heard any bad things said about him, Sam excluded. In fact most people praise him for being a good guy and doing a ton for kids.

The stuff Ryback is claiming is silly. Which guys has Cena held back? Which wrestlers besides Riley have issues with Cena? Triple H is using NXT to protect guys from Cena, like does that even make sense? How is Super Cena, John's fault? Isn't that more of an issue with Vince/WWE instead?

I don't know the whole thing just sounds like Ryback trying to get attention to get eyeballs/ears on his Podcast he's doing now.

Well...he DID completely dismantle the NXT angle. Completely vetoed it and squashed it dead, despite it being a hot piece of business at the time. He also ended Riley's career, Ryback clearly has issues with him, and others have come forth.

I don't know that he is to the levels of HBK, and I actually respect his work ethic in/out of the ring. But he is pretty heavy into the politics of the wrestling scene. Hogan did a lot for kids too, and was one of the biggest scumbags of all time. The two things can co-exist.

Elimination Chamber is back, Smackdown only ppv. Pretty excited about it. Sadly, Mickie James got zero pop for her return last night, but that crowd was kind of **** anyways.

The Wyatt stuff is great, excited they'll all be in the rumble.

Before the show, Orton supposedly told a fan to "**** off"....while at the gym while being hounded for pictures. Don't blame him, thats got to be super annoying.

What NXT angle? You mean NEXUS? Yeah that was a weird one but looking back at it it really didn't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things unless you want to say Barrett should have/would have been a bigger star out of the deal. I'm sure there have been other times Cena said no to a storyline or a job. Don't forget though Cena has put over guys like Punk, Bryan, Owens, Styles and Brock. Even lost to Sheamus, Miz, Rusev and Bray too even if he ended up getting those wins back.

But hey we're talking about the wrestling business where everyone is into politics if you want to get far. I don't think anyone is a boy scout in this business. Being a top guy for some long will make you have enemies whether it's fair or not.

I just think based off of what I know/see/hear about Cena and Ryback I'm going to side with Cena on this one. Not saying Ryback is lying, although he has said some pretty interesting/crazy comments about things since leaving the WWE, but it's obvious he has a bone to pick.

I'm pretty sure the Orton thing got debunked but yeah I'm surprised that stuff doesn't happen every day.

I don't love the Elimination Chamber as a PPV right after the Rumble. I wish they moved it to the summer time or as the big match for Survivor Series instead.

I read a report from a witness that Orton took the picture with the fan and was friendly with him. Weird. I just looked at Orton's feed and doesn't seem like it was friendly. My bad.

Nexus, not NXT. MY bad on the verbiage.

Barrett absolutely got hosed on that entire deal. There really isn't a reason for Barrett to not be a top star for the WWE right now, other than Cena killing his only real legit shot at it.

Cena put over Bryan because he was injured and had to take time off, so I don't really give him credit for that. Something tells me he wouldn't have done that if A: He wasn't insanely injured at the time and B: The two weren't basically brothers, at that point.

He didn't really put Brock over, in my estimation, as Brock was already over. It has been pretty well documented that the Summerslam suplex beatdown that Cena received, was originally meant for Bryan, before Bryan got injured. Cena was simply plugged in and forced to fill that role. Granted, he did it...but it wasn't his role originally. And he did it for arguably, a bigger star than himself.

Punk was a legit put over.

But, lots of guys have come out stating their beefs with Cena, and I imagine more will once they are gone from the WWE, in the future.

I don't understand why Ryback's claims are dismissed, though. Obviously he has a bone to pick, since he brought it up. But that doesn't disqualify his comments, on any level.

I didn't dismiss Ryback's claims. I just think since he left the WWE he hasn't exactly been, I'm not sure what word I'm looking for here, but stable in his comments towards the WWE. Some of them have been silly to insane.

I do agree that the way Cena was booked vs. Barrett and Nexus was bad. Cena should have lost the Summer Slam Team Cena vs. Team Nexus match but is that on Cena or Vince/WWE for booking him to win? Did Cena refuse to put over Nexus/Barrett? I don't remember or know, but Cena did lose to Barrett at the October PPV that year. Sidenote, I don't think Barrett would have ever been a top star for the WWE, whether Cena killed his legit shot or not. The guy was too injury prone and it just didn't seem like Vince would ever get behind him. Even during his peak of Bad News Barrett, there just was never any direction for him.

Yeah Brock was already over but the fact that Cena let Brock squash him like that I respect. What other top guy would have done that? Can you imagine Hogan, Flair, Austin, Rock, HBK or Triple H or anyone else agreeing to do that with no end game?

Look again we're talking about the wrestling business, where guys are the most selfish, back stabbing and egotistical in any profession, including politics. There's never going to be a top star that hasn't used his power to get over at the expense of others and there's always going to be people that are going to talk bad about the top stars whether it's right or wrong. I don't think Cena is the except to that rule.

Meltzer is reporting that the names he's hearing for the HOF this year, besides Angle, are Rick Rude, DDP, IRS, The Natural Disasters and the headliner being The Undertaker.

  15. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

That is a good list. Although, they typically have a woman/celebrity in the mix, as well. But even if it was just the ones above, I would be totally fine with it. But having both Angle AND Undertaker on the same induction year, seems odd. Both merit headlining their own class, imo.

Circling back around to Cena, I forgot about the Kenny Dykstra/Mickie James incident as well. Probably one of the more famous burials of two talented workers, simply because it was inconvenient for John. Ironically, both are back with WWE in various capacities, which I think shows John's current standing in the WWE, as far as an active wrestler/influencer goes.

Also...did Goldberg lose a fight to a DOOR, last night?

I think I remember hearing rumors the WWE is trying to get Ali inducted to the Celeb wing, if he's not already in it now. As far as a female, you're right who knows maybe Sable?

  17. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Sable should absolutely be in. I am surprised she isn't actually. The other name I heard was The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix. Which I would be okay with, but Sable contributed more to the business than Beth, in my opinion.

Yes I heard Beth Phoenix name too. I think the WWE has reached out to Sable in the past but she keeps rejecting them. Seems strange especially since Brock has been back for years now unless Sable still has issues with the WWE from her active days. Who knows. I agree with you Sable is more worthy than Phoenix but this might be one of those "hey we're friendly and on good terms with Beth and might need Edge for things down the road so let's throw her a bone".

I also forgot to include William Regal who is also being discussed as a possible name for the HOF.

Meltzer is reporting The Undertaker will be facing someone from the RAW brand at WM. So that leaves out the Cena/Taker match people wanted. So as far as realistic opponents for Taker, I'm guessing it will be Roman Reigns. Meltzer shot down Braun. Goldberg and Lesnar are facing each other. Rollins and Triple H is penciled in. The only others would be Kevin Owens, Jericho, or two wild cards Balor or Samoa Joe. I just can't see Taker going up against any of those 4 guys at this time right now.

I do wonder where that leaves John Cena, maybe Samoa Joe since I believe they are friends and it would be a hell of a match. So where does that leave AJ with?

I'm actually looking forward to the Rumble because there's a lot of unknowns heading into the event and it's the first time in a long time where it's pretty unpredictable.

I am guessing Aj/Balor.....imagine if they pull off some kind of "Free agent" thing with Shane/Bryan or claim that Taker was signed to Smackdown....but now he's wrestling for RAW..."So we've taken YOUR demon!!!!"

    Something like that.

Or where there is smoke there is fire, and Kenny Omega comes out and totally annihilates Aj during the rumble match with Cena setting up their WM match.

According to Meltzer as of right now here are the WM matches:

    Goldberg vs. Lesnar
    Undertaker vs. Reigns
    HHH vs. Rollins
    Owens vs. Jericho
    Bray vs. Orton
    Charlotte vs. Bayley
    Big Show vs. Shaq
    Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

Obviously that leaves guys like Cena, AJ Styles, Ambrose and Balor (if he can get cleared to wrestle by then) without matches as of right now. Although rumor is it's going to be Styles vs. Shane.

Meltzer is also reporting that as of right now, neither Styles or Owens will be champion heading into WM.

So just guessing here on my part, either Reigns vs. Taker will be for the WWE Title or Goldberg beats Owens for the WWE Title at Fastline and Brock wins the Rumble so Goldberg/Brock will be for the title. Either way I'm not loving it.

Personally, I would want to see A.J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe at Wrestlemania. For some reason, that feels like validation for both guys to me.

Balor, if cleared, probably would need to be protected on some level, so a tag team match, or a multi-man match might not be a bad idea.

Owens vs. Balor could be interesting, more so if Owens still has the title, but it could work without it.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they do an inter-show match up. Dean Ambrose vs. Jericho? Balor? Sami Zayn? Nakamura? Angle?

Ambrose's character is a little bit of Brian Pillman. You could have him get into it with someone from the RAW roster at the Royal Rumble and basically have him continue that animosity by showing up on RAW, at Raw house shows, have that person show on on SD through the crowd, attack him on a house show, etc., until the GM's/Commissioners agree that the two need to settle it in the ring, at WM.

I am ok with that since WM is a special event.

The undercard of the Rumble was very very good. The Rumble match itself was ok, just way too many men in the ring at the same time just laying in the ring. There were some memorable eliminations and cool moments. Surprised the WWE didn't have any surprise legends in the match, didn't really like any of the other surprise wrestlers either, very underwhelming. Don't understand having Orton win but I guess the WWE isn't trying to sell WM on the WWE title match but instead will focus on Goldberg/Lesnar and Taker/Reigns.

I love both lesnar and goldberg but enough is enough... It's clear to everyone that at this point Goldberg has only two moves, he was limited in his prime and even more so now...

he has yet done anything but spear and jackhammer... we dont want that match to happen again...

Youre gonna have to stick goldberg in a gimmick match like a fatal four way..

By the way watching Jericho in the background of the rumble was pure entertainment. He is too funny.

I found it odd that Kane was not included.

Also i know every rumble has a stooge but i could have done without Enzo and James...

Probably dont put the entire New day next year...

Didnt like how Ambrose was easily tossed out as if he were some nobody like Ziggler.

Jericho should have won it. It makes sense on virtually every level.

But alas, We get a Reigns/Orton finale that NO ONE wanted to see. I assume that this is a thanks to Orton for letting Brock cave his face in last summer.

Goldberg eliminating Lesnar was perfect. The story is that even Brock has someone he can't beat. I love what they are doing there.

Undertaker looked awful. Old, fat and uninspired. His match with Reigns will be terrible.

Cena-Styles was incredible. Probably the best match Cena can expect to have, really. AJ is simply untouchable, currently.

Owens-Reigns was pretty good, as well. Making it a No-DQ match was a great way to cover up Reign's limitations.

Taker/Reigns has to be one of the worst matches at a WrestleMania. I am a HUGE Taker fan, but have no interest in that match, especially with Takers age and limitedness. I hear he needs a full hip replacement too. Good thing is, Lesnar already beat Taker, so I can care less if Reigns wins.

Reigns at 30 was just trolling the fans. Having him and Orton being the final 2 make sense, only in, they probably figured, people would be less pissed knowing Reigns will not win the Rumble. I dont like the call, but honestly, I don't hate it. I honestly rather see Jericho win, as I think he is on fire right now, and him and Owens at WM would be pretty cool!

Goldberg/Lesnar is interesting and I agree with you Sam, that its cool that there is someone who Lesnar just can not beat.

Overall, I was disappointed in the PPV, well mainly the Rumble itself.

I agree I would have given the win to Jericho, he could have had a lot of mileage out of it and it could have led to a lot of Owens/Jericho stuff with Owens slowly starting to not trust Jericho to further their storyline. I really didn't like the direction they went with Orton winning.

Yeah the Lesnar/Goldberg Rumble stuff was great. I also liked how Corbin eliminated Stroman out of nowhere too. It added unpredictability to the match, as I figured it would take 10 guys to eliminate Braun.

Taker did look pretty bad out there last night, his days are definitely numbered. I think it's really telling that they just had him appear in the ring instead of having him go down the aisle because it would have taken him 15 minutes to get to the ring.

The WWE really needs to bring back Patterson to help them out with the Rumble matches again. There's really a lack of direction in the match, just way too many guys in the ring at the same time doing nothing just waiting for the next spot to happen which led to a lot of bodies on the floor or laying down in the ring.

When was the last time the Rumble match itself was good? Honest question because I don't know. I think it's been years since it's been good. It's one of those matches that everyone gets hyped up about but is ultimately a let down, especially if the winner isn't who you wanted it to be.

I'm still kind of surprised the WWE didn't get any legends involved in the match this year. I thought the surprise wrestlers were really really weak.

I read somewhere else, where if you had HHH enter as #30, instead of Roman Reigns, that it would have made more sense since A: He would be looking to become a back-to-back Royal Rumble winner, plus you could have done the very same thing they did to Seth on Monday and play Rollins' music, distract HHH and have Orton toss him out and win.

At least then, you have more reason for Rollins vs. HHH at Wrestlemania, and fans would have been more apt for Orton to win, then simply being the best option left between he and Reigns.

Quite frankly, other than the gimmick of Dillinger coming out 10th, there was no real surprise moment that people come to expect with the Rumble. It would have been nice to have had Joe, and perhaps a surprise legend like Terry Funk, or maybe even Ric Flair, just to get the crowd riled up.

If Angle had been 30th, the place would have melted down, I think. Basically, anyone but Roman.
