I don't want them to use the bye week either, the players need that week in the middle of the season to recover and recuperate from the first half of the season. NFL would be screwing the players if they went that route.
There is also the possibilty of playing sunday in another southern stadium, could be Jacksonville, Atlanta, Charlotte, or New Orleans.
I say lets play sunday in Jacksonville and get it over with.
The Hurricane is still far away it could still miss us completely. -
we can't play in northern florida or any part sunday. it is moving away, and really, on Monday, SFLA, according to models is clear. On Monday, it is moving further up

Bring the game to Charlotte, the Panthers are out of town. And we have a pretty strong following here. We'd definitely have more fans than the Bucs.
I really hate the idea of postponing. Just use the closest team's stadium that is away on week one, that is not in the path of the storm.dolphin25 likes this. -

They've already said they won't play Thursday. Because Roger Goodell is the worst.

They can still prepare like everyone else balancing work and the hurricane preperation. Playing the game on sunday wasnt going to prevent them and their families from preparing for the storm. -
Once upon a time, the NFL had 6 preseason games and the regular season was 14 straight games. Then The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks came into the league and the schedule was adjusted to 4 preseason games and 16 straight regular season games. In 1990, the NFL recognizing the brutality of 16 straight games on NFL players instituted the bye week, to give teams the opportunity to rest their players.
The NFL has chosen to go back to 1989 for Miami and Tampa Bay, so while 30 other teams will get their much needed bye weeks, we won't. The game could have been moved to Thursday night...it could have been moved to Friday night. There is precedence for both but they chose the worse of all possible options.
Miami and Tampa Bay should be compensated for this...compensate both teams by a compensatory 1st round draft pick in 2018. -
