Thats great. I wonder if he'll EVER get around to a study of what it takes to win a Super Bowl?:pity:

interesting, he really needs to hit the books.
the up-side:
if Daboll is as good an offensive coordinator as Nolan is on defense, Sparano may survive in spite of himself. -
I wonder if he ever took the time to study Manning, or our rival Tom Brady. I wonder if he ever wondered who this Dan Marino guy is that has his name all over awards throughout Dolphins stadium. Probably spends too much time in the weight room perfecting his fist pump...

Yeah, because no one tweets about it, it must mean Sparanos never studied it.

In related news, my studies last year yielded evidence to suggest that watching the Dolphins last year might have taken about 3 years off my own life expectancy.

Word about this leaked months ago, around the time Sparano gave his “please don’t fire me” presentation to Stephen Ross. This is why some people thought Vince Young was a legitimate option for the team, or that the Dolphins would draft Cam Newton (before his meteoric rise to a legitimate #1 overall pick).

I think they would have taken kaepernick if the price was right.

Anyone can have an opinion on our current head coach and I understand the frustration with his conservative ideology.
Sparano has had success in Dallas and knows the game of football. He just needs to refine his approach. His work ethic and leadership abilities are way above average. I think it was more Henning holding us back. -
Leadership? Henning worked for Sparano; a good leader doesn't allow a bad employee to affect his entire team the way meathead did Henning all last season.muscle979, gafinfan, jetssuck and 1 other person like this. -

I should lower my expectations of the team I support because in the third year of a three-year rebuild they still don't have their **** together? Because they made ridiculous draft picks and signed even more ridiculous free agents, and have a Head Coach too gutless to either fire his Offensive Coordinator or raise the expectation, and who coaches too scared to even go for touchdowns instead of field goals? -
That being said I think it is stupid to "study" QBs and come to the conclusion moble QBs create the most big plays. Most NFL head coaches and GMs do not understand statistics by any means. Every single QB in the league is different (in terms of accuracy, Football IQ, arm strength, SYSTEM, coaching philosophy, etc), so to compare QBs does not make sense at all. The only statistics important would be a units statistics (like the OL) compared to a positions play (QB, WR, HB, etc); and other relationship based statistics and even these should be taken with a grain of salt. Statistics are variable influenced and there are far too many variables on the field to produce anything meaningful. Baseball on the other hand is completely different. If you are interested I'd recommend Billy Beane's Moneyball. -

Problem with that study is the offense is not stocked with the players who would support it's conclusion, we were a power running team, unless they had Mike Vick who would they implement the thing?
I mean I like Thiggy more then most dolfans do, but unless he grows a howitzer arm he will roll right and throw right the same as Henne did, maybe he could run the ball out of that motion far better than Henne but still?
I semi kid about Vince Young but he also does not have a Elway like cannon arm though he can really run with the football. -
Sparano is garbage folks, he nrings nothing to the table for our football team. Wanny was "respected" in the locker room so save that BS.
After we waste the efforts of a top 5 defense this year, ole fist pumper will get the axe and we can start to have high expectations for this team.NaboCane likes this. -
That's what I mean about Sparano being a meathead; yeah, if you just want big plays, study what creates big plays. But he has no sense of the big picture—he has Coordinators who should be scouring the minutiae—he should have the 30,000-foot view, the vision.
You know the old saying, "you can't hit what you can't see"? Sparano can't see championships. He's a small mind in a huge job.UCF FINatic likes this. -

Unless you were to tell me that there's something wrong with me for liking honey mustard instead of ranch, and that furthermore, you think everyone who likes honey mustard is inferior and doesn't know anything about food.*
That's where I develop posting Tourette.

Henning was clearly a detriment to the team in many ways; if Sparano had a pair, he would have gone to Henning at some point and respectfully asked him to step down. You really think Henning would have refused?
And let's say in some crazy scenario that Henning did refuse; you think if Sparano walks into Parcells' office...or Ireland's, or Ross' office—whatever—and said "Him or me." You think anyone would go against the Head Coach saying that?
But that does require retention and current possession of one's grapes. -
I'm not a fan of Sparano and his handling of things last season. Would have been real happy to see him walk but what do I know.
I was told today here that I should seek help from a mental health specialist, then govern myself accordingly...... :lol:MrClean likes this.
