I've never been so terrified by a thunderstorm as by the one thats happening outside right now. Car alarms are going off left and right. The thunder and lightning sounds like A-bombs dropping in my parking lot. My building is shaking. This is worse than a hurricane. I hope my building doesnt get hit.

I fricking love T-Storms and that type of weather:up:
Being from Kansas, I grew up with that type of weather a lot. I love tornados, if I was 25 years younger, I would go and study that in a heartbeat. People out here in Colorado are scared to death of tornados, but that's okay.Vengeful Odin and GISH like this. -

Geez-that was just a baby storm. I was at my sister's, standing in the driveway with my bro-in-law, having beers, and talking about re-shingling my roof. Looking at theirs (which I worked on) as an example. Storm was an afterthought. You big girl.

:sigh: I miss my Florida heat lightning shows and afternoon thunderboomers.
It's cool as long as you're not outside playing tennis with a metal racket or on a golf course with an iron in your hand.
Makes me want to go home...been away for a long time...
EDIT: I would've turned off my computer and unplugged the thing...DrAstroZoom, gunn34 and Big E like this. -

no pics Gish??? When I was seven, lightning struck a tree in our backyard, it was about 40 yards away from us. We were in the corner room closest to the strike... big backyard though, thankfully... I was blind for about 10 minutes.

Delaware weather. Ahhhh.
As long as it's not winter or summer.. it's not bad. Winter is too freakin cold and windy and icy and summer is too humid. It's not the good humid like AZ it's the bad humid. Which is a lot better than NC. I can't take that humidity. Beautiful state but man does it get hot.GISH likes this. -
We've had storms down here every day for almost a week.
We've been lucky we haven't been in a lot of severe stuff, but places around us have been hit hard.
Yesterday it blew so hard it bent our flag pole. You should have seen me in the down pour trying to get our flags inside. It came on so fast they got soaked before I could get out there. We had 3 up around the property.GISH likes this. -

We lived in the middle of the woods, and there was so much ice and it was so heavy that the giant trees were snapping and falling. One took out our minivan, one took out the corner of our house/propane tank. And all you heard was the snap of the tree and then the crash.
I've never been in war but I would have to equate it to being similar to having bombs going off around you but no idea where they're gonna be (granted, at a much lesser level of doom). I was 7ish years old, but my entire family was scared poopless and we fled and lived at a hotel for a couple days. -
