all was quiet for the Seattle Seahawks....or was it? New GM Boik14, who lead the Pittsburgh Steelers last year to the top of the GM League, has taken over a new team in Seattle and tries to duplicate his success and push them over the top. The Seahawks had a good year this year but dismissed former GM John Schneider once it was rumored Boik14 was interested in the job. Upon accepting the GM role Boik14 stated "If a team has a coach and a quarterback they have the foundation. If they have a lot of talent around them and know how to function as a team then they're officially close. It could just be that some of the pieces need to be switched out or improved." Seattle is lead by Head Coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Russell Wilson who enters his second year in the league. Seattle was dismissed by Atlanta in the Divisional round of the playoffs after a 20 point comeback gave them a brief lead before the Falcons kicked a late field goal for the win. Now a young, hungry Seahawk team backed by the loudest crowd in the league, looks to take the next step. In order to take that next step, the offensive pieces around Wilson will be heavily scrutinized as the team looks to improve Wilson has a spectacular rookie year and after offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell opened up the played book over the last 5 games Wilson had the second highest QB rating in the league behind only Drew Brees. The buzz around this young superstar is incredible around Seattle. Gone is former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to Jacksonville where he accepted a well earned head coaching position. Former assistant Dan Quinn will take Bradley's old role as defensive playcaller. Quinn has an outstanding core of young players lead by his tall, rangy corners Richard Sherman who claimed his place among the elite last year and Brandon Browner who looks to overcome his 4 game suspension for a failed drug test. Earl Thomas is among the elite safeties in the and Bruce Irvin is already a very good pass rusher who is improving against the run. The Seahawks will look to their front office to take the next step and make a run for greatness. Is the front office up to the task? Can Boik14 duplicate his success from the Steelers? Those and other questions will be answered over the next few months as teams look to rebuild, retool, and evaluate their rosters in an attempt to win the 2013 GM League.
