i cut off off people's social services. i work in the enforcement wing of it. you don't want to comply, well have fun with no medical benefits.

and i work for child support enforcement. we're the bastard step-children of social services (we are a division of social services). we're in the same building as the food stamp/welfare people, and they won't even call us downstairs if someone we are looking for shows up.

if people are noncompliant, we cut off their "benefits," aka handouts.

and i do a lot of it. i have pregnant women calling me up all the time screaming about how i cut off their medicaid.

well 2 solutions:

1. don't get knocked up if you can't afford it
2. if you expect the government to pay for you, have the decency to come into the office when they request it.

 

Not as fun as it sounds. You can't get money out of criminals and derelicts. Most of the time when you serve them with papers they just have a blank expression on their faces because they have no idea what it even means.

 

failure to pay child support is a misdemeanor charge, and they only issue it way down the line after we have a judgment and they are in some extraordinarily large amount of arrears. so in order to get an attachment we need to have already served them papers, which is requisite to getting a court order when they are uncooperative, and they need to have failed to pay on that judgment for a lengthy time. the entire process is slow and ineffective.

 

no, because there aren't 15 women in the world who would have you, so we would assume we had the wrong person.
