Dolphins agreed to terms with S Gibril Wilson on a five-year, $27.5 million contract. The deal includes $8 million in guarantees.

Broncos signed S Renaldo Hill to a four-year, $10 million contract with $3 million guaranteed.

I'm not saying Hill was the answer, but I don't believe we'd be 0-3 if we still had Hill at FS. Every time there is a deep ball I see Wilson 2-3 yds behind the receiver.

renaldo was very hated on the boards if i recall.

He was the only safety we've had in years (since Brock Marion really) that was capable of making an interception though.

The only 2 deep balls that we've had against us were from last game.

On the one to Jackson, it was Bell who was trailing.

Thinking we'd be 0-3 w/Hill rather than Wilson is one thing, it's another to say Wilson's always getting beat on deep balls.

I think they draft Clemons for a reason. Sadly, the play of the above was probably that reason.

All I know is living on the West Coast (Sacramento CA.) the closest team is the Raiders. When we picked up G. Wilson, the radio media was having a field day laughing and making comments. The guy was a joke in Oakland. I hope he pulls it together for us, but?

Hill is no worse than Wilson IMO.

    The post funk era
    :knucks: Your right!

I use to try and defend him here but because he wasn't a sure fire HOF'er people would hate on him.

He was never going to be a 4.3 40' guy that played the run like Bob Sanders or have the ball skills like Ed Reed. All he was, was a solid pro,and in this "Madden World " we live in now that doesn't cut it anymore with fans.:pity:

Many here didn't think Andre Goodman was worth the money ether and now the Denver Broncos have Goody and Hill and the 2nd best passing D in the NFL..................and we have the 26th.

But i do like our two young CB's.

Wilson is improving... It was Will Allen trailing on the deep ball with YB trying to catch up. I think Will needs to pick it up as well as anyone. He surely hasn't locked down his side of the field.

Will Allen has not been good at all. infact hes been terrible and the worst cover guy in our secondary right now...extremely disappointing

    Some have short memories.
One big reason we started out 0-2 last year was our DBs. Favre and Warner both torched us with mid to long passes. Even a team like KC score 31 points against us.
Our defensive backfield last year was not going to improve. The unit had peaked and we were still vulnerable to the passing game. So when you look back, what's the right thing to do? Look to improve or look to remain mediocre?
They brought Wilson in because he played well in the Giants' defense, which is similar to the defense that we employ. Whether he played well in Oakland or not doesn't matter to me. Randy Moss didn't play well in Oakland, either. In fact most former Raiders players seem to agree the Raiders are terribly dysfunctional anymore.
We also drafted 2 CBs 1st and 2nd rd. At least now we have a group with potential to improve.

Umm... The reason we are 0-3 is very simple. Because we are the worst team in the league in the most important stat in football. That is Yards Per Pass Attempt Differential.

    See for yourself here:

That says it all.. When you can't pass on offense, and can't stop the pass on defense, you are in loads of trouble. Because this league bends the rules for the passing game. This is a QB league that is all about the passing game, the rules dictate that because they all benefit the passing game...

Period. There is nothing else to say about why we are 0-3. All you need to do is go to that link and you have your answers why we are 0-3..... Because that there is the most important stat in football.

Well, a few folks pointed out that Wilson isn't good in coverage and they were dismissed as haters. Instead of using caution, some were talking about how we had 2 of the best S in the league and how Wilson would flourish in our defense away from Oakland. They pointed to his high tackle total as proof that he is worth his contract, yet they ignored the fact that Wilson had noone of any consequence infront of him in Oakland, their defense was horrid last year and it allowed more ball carriers to get to him leading to a high tackle total.
