I include slot receiver and 2nd TE as part of the O, giving 13 positions. So far, the only player who has been great, and consistent, on our team has been "Divine" Bess. Long has been mostly great but had to deal with the injury. Fasano would be next, having played well. That's about it.
Everyone else has been disappointing for an assortment of reasons. R&R are not what we expected. Polite is not the same player. Marshall, good but, not great and injured. Hartline, rough start, VG, and then hurt.
Berger, not as good as last year. Incognito, coming on after 6 games. Carey, not as good as he should be. Jerry, potential, injury, and a rookie. McQ, playing pretty well but, a backup. Second TE, Any volunteers? :)
Henne would be beating a dead horse, as he has been dissected and trisected enough.
Anyone still wondering why we are struggling on O?

The sick part is, is Jake Long "injured" is more effective still than a majority of the LT's in the NFL. When healthy, I'm hard-pressed to name one that's as good...Joe Thomas and D'Brickashaw Ferguson are the only 2 that I think are in his echelon when he's 100%.

I don't know why Fas gets so much flak, I guess people don't pay attention to "unimportant" stuff like blocking. Bess, i disagree with. Nothing "great" about him. He's a solid slot WR who can get you a bunch of 5-15 yd gains. In order to be "great" in my book, there's got to be some red zone or big play ability. I love the guy, but he's not an elite player IMO. -
I believe that Bess is the best slot receiver in the league. To me, that's great, although I do understand your point.
The main point of this thread is that there is "PLENTY" of blame to go around on our problems with O. No player, other than Bess, Long, and Fas can look in the mirror and say I have played as well as I could have.
In no way am I putting all that on coaching. Players also have to be held accountable to fans, as well as themselves.
