The city of Miami just gave the approval for the Marlins to build their own stadium. They expect this to be done by 2012 and the Florida Marlins will no longer be the Florida Marlins, they will be the Miami Marlins.
Anyway, i couldn't stand seeing the Dolphins play on that baseball infield dirt. Now we can be .00001% better! Hey, anything helps! lol

That certainly is great news!!! Too bad its still 3 years away.. :tantrum:
-
and the visiting team will be .00001% better also.....because they wont be playing on it. i never understood the excuses fans made for our crap teams the last decades. like the visiting team didnt play on the dirt or something....you would think if anything we'd have an advantage :huh:Alex44, PMZQ, GARDENHEAD and 1 other person like this.

I still say playing on the equivalent of asphalt can't be a good thing for either team.

I love football too, but Baseball does not suck. It is a great sport.King Felix, The Aqua Crush, unluckyluciano and 4 others like this.

Baseball died for me after the World Seriesless year. Greedy bastards!!!

I like the infield dirt it gives our stadium unique look. But I wont mind it being gone.
-
Thank god, only 3 more seasons.
-
Not so much as advantage either way, but an increased risk of freak injury. We lost more than one player to a season ending injury to that dirt through the years. I'm glad it's going away.
And yes, I will be in the new stadium watching the xyz marlins play on occasion, too, just don't like my my Fins get hurt playing on a baseball diamond. -
I don't really see what the big deal was. I'm not a baseball fan, but as a Dolphins fan I think it's not super relevent.
I can't really recall anyone having an injury on it or attributed to it. The only real negative I can think of is Mare missing a game winning kick off of it one time, but that was towards the end of his career here where he was faltering in general.
Ultimately, it's something that teams need to gameplan for, and something that a good coaching staff can utilize as an advantage. -
Hopefully the stupid Marlins fold or relocate and it will be less than 3 years.
-
lol.
those "stupid marlins" won twice as many more championships in that stadium then our beloved dolphins. :up:PMZQ and PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN like this. -
Broken clock is right twice a day.
Besides, doesn't change the fact that they're nothing but a bunch of squatters.HardKoreXXX likes this. -

Marty, it was T-Ball. I think you can let it go after all these years.PMZQ, SICK, Rocky Raccoon and 1 other person like this.

Thank god!! Finally
That infield has cost us games. I hate that we have to deal with it. Harder for players to get their footing, beyond just a place kicker.
I hate Baseball, so boring to watch. Glad it is really no longer America's past time, FOOTBALL IS!! -
Thats 3 too many :(
-
Personally, I love Marlins. Good for them finally getting their stadium. Now if only we could use the infield for our advantage. I'm sure the Dolphins don't make life easy for the Marlins. Just think how torn up the outfield is for them the day after a Dolphins game. World Series Champs 2009!
SICK, PMZQ and PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN like this. -
It would be different if The Dolphins tore up The Marlins field and messed their games up. Instead, its The Marlins infield that messes up The Dolphins IN the Dolphin Stadium
Its Dolphins stadium, and the way i see it, they have the full right to set it on fire after each game, because its their field. Marlins have no right to complain about anything involving the dolphins field, because it isn't theirs.PSG likes this. -
The dirt has NEVER cost us a game. The opposing team plays on the same dirt as us for 60 minutes. Just because we miss a kick from it at the end doesnt mean we lost because of it, because the other team kicks off it too.
I've played on a field that was made ENTIRELY OF BASEBALL DIRT. It really isnt that bad.steveincolorado likes this. -
Doesnt change the fact that there is Baseball Infield in the middle of a Football Field.steveincolorado likes this.

Yeppers, we lost those games because we got beat. Dumbass kickers:shifty:
-
They won't fold, because they are talentad as hell. And if you didn't hear, the marlins are leaving for a reason. THey just got a new stadium. I doubt they relocate.
-
They still have done much better than the dolphins have done the past 10 years.
-
Not really. Baseball is the sh!t
-
Baseball does not suck!
-
wooo!!!!
-
Really?
5 consecutive?
Next time try posting AFTER you read thru the thread. -
Baseball sucks,
Baseball sucks,
Baseball sucks,
Baseball sucks,
Baseball sucks..........:shifty:
If people want to spend their money on baseball, thats fine with me. I won't spend a penny on that sport ever again:up: -
perhaps in the meantime the marlins should be forced to play on grass. you dont need dirt to play baseball.
-
But that is the only way they can get their pretty little uniforms dirty:shifty:
-
Look, I understand you guys hate baseball. But disrespecting the sport is immature. And like I said, you may hate the marlins, but they have had more success than the dolphins have had in the past 10 years.
-
And they have wanted out, desparately for many, many years, yet the politics of South Fla prevented it. Why blame the Marlins, you should blame the politicians. And also Huizenga, who had the money to build it himself, but instead wanted the public to pony up 100% of the money for "Blockbuster ParK". When that didn't happen he decided to sell the team.PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN likes this.

I don't hate the marlins, I just don't care for the sport. The commish is a joke of a man, he's ball-less, a true puppet for the owners. Now, I have a lot of friends that like baseball and I have no problem with that, it's their money, not mine. I'm not disrespecting the fans, or atleast I'm not trying to.

I love the sport, it just is very different than football. Baseball is the perfect "buddy sport". In other words, its best watched with a buddy. Then you can argue, and discuss the game and all of its ebbs and flows. One of the best elements of baseball is that it is not over, until it is over. I have seen comebacks from 10-1 to a win in the bottom of the 9th. You never see that in football which is the equivalent of being down 45-7 with 4 minutes left in the 4th.PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN, Kanye West and steveincolorado like this.
