Opening Day Pitching Matchups One of the cool things about Opening Day is that there are a lot of # 1s going against other # 1s. Here are some of the pitching matchups today: Oswalt (HOU) vs. Peavy (SD) Sheets (MIL) vs. Zambrano (CHI) Webb (ARI) vs. Harang (CIN) Meche (KC) vs. Verlander (DET) Halladay (TOR) vs. Wang (NYY) Zito (SF) vs. Penny (LAD) Santana (NYM) vs. Hendrickson (FLA) Buehrle (CHW) cs. Sabathia (CLE) Millwood (TEX) vs. Bedard (SEA) Not all of those guys are true # 1s, but some of those matchups are pretty awesome. Oswalt/Peavy, Sheets/Zambrano, Webb/Harang, Buehrle/Sabathia... those are good. It's a great day for baseball.
I am "sick" today. Here is hoping that the Directv guy gets his butt in gear in time to give me my new box in time for first pitch.
im pretty bummed out today, im at work in my damn office listening to the tigers game on opening day today. I'm not a huge tigers fan, Im more of a Jays fan, but I do like both teams. Last year I was at Comerica Park for the Jays/Tigers home opener. Because its kind of cloudy here today, and looked like it may rain, i decided not to bother going, especially since the Tigers are only playing Kansas City... but then earlier at about 12:45 or so when i heard/saw the fighter jets flying over my office heading towards Detroit, i was really bummed out that Im stuck at work! It's nice to have baseball back though
The AL wild card is going to be a battle. Assuming Sox/Tigers/Angels win their divisions (which all three of them could be fighting for the wild card) that leaves Yankees/Cleveland/Seattle - 3 very good teams, fighting for the WC. Should be a fun year.
We just won't discuss the Phils first game of the season.... it was a good thing i had a couple beers
