He has been the poster boy for the checkdown play for years...He uses it magnificently, but thats basicall what he is, and because of how non flexible he is from the shoulders up, he has a hard time getting the ball off if his space is invaded or release is impeded...But man can he screen you and check you to death...top 10 QB but thats as far as a I go JD.. Rothlesberger.. Brady.. Manning.. Vick.. Brees.. Rodgers.. He's not in any of those QB's league imo.
I think Rivers is elite. Not sure what you mean by check down machine. If that's the case, what is up with Jackson's, Floyd's and Gates's insane numbers? Rivers can attack all areas of the field, imo.
Rivers is the anti-Check down. Which RB's were he hitting? And he hits Gates deep more so. He's not much of a YAC TE. Career 8.0 YPA number. Last three years 8.4 8.8 8.7
Rex Grossman is looking nice. I always thought he got a bum rap in Chicago. They just gave up on his development.
Rivers is elite. I'll take him over everyone not named Brady or Manning, that includes Brees, Rodgers, Vick and Big Ben.
IDK. I mean, I like Rivers. And, I'd take him high over many others. But, I don't know that I'd take him over Brees, Rodgers or Big Ben, simply because they all know how to win the big one.
Cam Newton with an impressive performance. For a rookie, that was impressive. Sure, the Cardinals weren't playing very well defensively, and they still held on for the win, but Newton took a lot of heat in the predraft stuff and he just may be for real.
If you bet the total in the SF/Sea game, you're either very happy or very mad at Ginn right now LOL...
are we bagging on the Jets in here or another thread? Go Cowboys.... Oh and Panther LB Jon Beason is likely out for the season. FYI.
J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK!!! Soooo who else thinks that they wouldn't be visiting the board if Chad Henne has an outing similar to Matt Ryan? The Falcons just looked awful.
Ed Reed played so well he may have saved my Fantasy football team this week (with defensive players).
I watched him play late last yr KM, that is one of the reason why I said he can get it done, this is not a fluke.
so looking back at Houston vs Indy Kevin Walter has a broken shoulder, he could be out against us.... Derrick Ward left with an ankle injury Arian Foster still day to day with his harmstring issue dont know if anyone else got hurt
Even if those guys don't play, Andre Johnson still scares the hell out of me. He put up good numbers in the 1st half alone (offense was on cruise control in 2nd half).
yeah he is always a nightmare for any defense, but on a houston message board they are crying of the loss of walter
Kevin Walter hurts the Texans. It helps Miami next week. A few things that I took away from the first week. New Orleans, Green Bay & Baltimore look like the top of the town. Depending on how things shake out with injuries and , oh wait, 15 more games this season, they could be playing in the Super Bowl. The amount of playoff teams & division winners that were crushed yesterday. Pittsburgh Steelers lost by 28, Kansas City Chiefs lost by 34, Indianapolis Colts lost by 24, Atlanta Falcons lost by 18, Seattle Seahawks lost by 16, the New England Patriots?? That's 5/7 Division Winners, Automatic Playoff Entries that lost by 3 scores. Amazing. Cam Newton played brilliantly. He flashed on everything and he almost drove his team down to win the football game. A real test will be when he faces the Green Bay Packers this week. The Cowboys are going to wish they had reeled in that game against the Jets in January. They literally just handed the Jets the football game. I follow Gregg Rosenthal on Twitter and his tweet was hysterical--to me anyways. A punt, a fumble, a 2 yard drive equals a come from behind win in the 4th QTR. Before Michael Jenkins went out of the game for about a quarter, the Jets had no advantages at the WR position, other than throwing Holmes in at the slot. They couldn't run the ball, they weren't committed to it either, and they couldn't consistently get it down the field until Alvin Ball & Brian McCann were manning the CB positions.
