I would love to have the flexibility to have an interchangeable back system. you are so right the OLine is the key and we are trying to build a big, mean and nasty one. Going back to the Skins it was the same deal with the OLine. When you have a guy like Fritz Shurmur designing a new scheme (Eagle Front) to stop your power running game you know you are winning up front every time. I'm a meat and potatoes guy who would kill to have a running game that could do that.

It we have a disappointing 2010 season, with all due respect it won't just be Henning on the hot seat.

I think we are close to being there Killahp, the questions are whether or not Jake Grove can stay healthy, and LG, who wins the job?

Grove was dominant when healthy, Rotten Richie is a solid NFL G, but that other G position has everyone from Garner to Jerry to Tsoumpas trying to win the thing.

He didn't give up 1 sack all season.

Seems like there are a lot of people who are happy with Henning. I don't understand why so many of you are so pleased with him. Just because he's been coaching for 30 years (going from team to team. Notice how he hasn't stayed in one place for more than a few years) doesn't mean anything to me. Experience only means so much these days. Hey....I guess the same argument can be made for Al Davis. He has been in the league for how long? He must be doing something right, huh? He has experience.

In season he was either #1 or #2 right behind Mangold.

That's just Dan being told to fix the game. Haven't you noticed that the casinos are owned by the same corporations who invest/endorse NFL teams? Look at the back drop behind the podium during a press conference and you will see which corporation is bullying the team around.

It's to be expected in all sports nowadays. The guy who calls the play poorly always fixes the games so that the naive fools who think its impossible to fix games will blame only him. When the mob ran vegas and sports it was better, now that corporations took it all over nothing is scared.

Dan Henning is doing exactly as he is told, just like the referee (Phil Luckett) who botched the coin toss and let the wrong team kick off. For those of you who forgot here's the video of the fixed coin toss.

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d80cc8200/Bettis-calls-tails

Phil Luckett didn't lose his job did he?? naturally; he, just like Henning are all doing as they are told. I know its hard to believe but there is no tooth fairy, superman, Easter bunny, santa clause or boogie man, and some games - SOME GAMES - are fixed.

You know how sometimes you can see a play on a highlight film, more of a blunder film, and you just know that Dan Henning had to be the OC for that team?

I see Nate Garner starting over Tsoumpas. Garner is big, smart, physical and very versatile. He fits the mold perfectly. They love this kid. Sparano raved on about how he couldn't keep him off the field. Once he was out there he picked it up very quickly.
I know he got behind because of the injury but again they won't be able to keep him out of the lineup.

    Dimitri Tsoumpas G: 6-4 315
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitri_Tsoumpas

the Calgary Stampeders acquired the second overall pick in the 2008 CFL Draft and used it to draft Tsoumpas. He was named the starting right guard, while fellow rookie Jesse Newman was the starting left guard. He debuted for Calgary, in week one against the BC Lions. Tsoumpas started all 18 games including all playoff games which included the 96th Grey Cup. He helped Calgary's running backs average 134.6 yards per game with 6.4 yards per carry.[1] He was also key in helping the Stampeders allow the fewest sacks in the CFL.[1] Joffrey Reynolds the CFL's leading rusher gained 1,310 yards with the help of Tsoumpas.Following the season he was Calgary's nominee for the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie award.Tsoumpas was expected to remain a starter in 2009.
Tsoumpas agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League in 2010.
Dimitri @ 24, w/ one of the fastest rising offensive lineman in the CFL and has already gained plenty of experience and accolades in two pro seasons. He has all the intangibles & experience playing both right & left guard.

    I think he will start

I get it but Nate Garner has already proven he can be a starter in the NFL and coach is really high on him. If he is healthy he starts.

    He started because of injury.

The love the guy so much that they signed a Canadian Superstar, drafted a guy in the 3rd round and signed a starting quality guard.

The offensive line will be fine. Back to the original topic, I have a hard time picturing Henning being 100% into the playbook 100% of the time right now. I'm picturing him on vacation somewhere with his wife sitting in a hammock, drinking Ensure. He is about 70 years old. I'm sorry but I don't have much faith with this guy calling the shots. I know everyone else is in love with the guy for whatever reason. I really don't want to come back here in December and say "I told you so" either. I have faith in the offense but with Henning at the controls I don't have as much confidence. Remember how he put Pat White in games at the most critical times? Thats another example of why I do not trust him calling plays. There are plenty other examples that have already been discussed.

I do, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't.

70 years old doesn't mean much to me. Just because someone is old doesn't mean they do not have the energy for the position. If he kept himself healthy then it does not matter.

I like him because he has done a good job of running the offense. Does he mess up some calls? Of course. Who doesn't. He gets more right than wrong and the offense has been pretty good the last two years. Even with arguably the worse receiving corps in the NFL.
