Here I was reading the headline thinking the fashion police finally caught up to them... Wow. Well, top 25 here come Montana and Stanford...
I don't think they believe that. I think they just point the finger at OSU because, well, you know, nobody likes OSU.
it's the sweater vest Fin-O, and Oregon is a West Coast team whose games are not really closely followed. OSU the games are watched heavily on the EC and their players were a bit better known, for example Tony Masoli v T Pryor. Another quick test: Name 5 guys in the NFL from OSU Now name 5 guys in the NFL from Oregon
Oregon: Dennis Dixon, QB, Pittsburgh Jairus Byrd, DB, Buffalo Haloti Ngata, DE, Baltimore Patrick Chung, DB, New England TJ Ward, DB Cleveland OSU: Brian Robiskie, WR, Cleveland Brian Hartline, WR, Miami AJ Hawk, LB, Packers James Laurenitis, LB, Rams Michael Jenkins, DB, Saints
Congratulations on completely missing the point, most fans don't. Who was the last Heisman Trophy winner to come fron Oregon? Coach write any books? etc etc
I didn't miss the point, I was just answering your question. I know I'm not most fans. I don't follow any coach's writing prowess, it wouldn't surprise me if Chip Kelly had wrote a book though. There has never been a player at the University of Oregon awarded the Heisman trophy, but that isn't exactly rare. Only something like 1/3rd of all FBS schools have ever had a Heisman winner. SMU and Navy have had Heisman winners for example, but that doesn't make their football programs more known nationally than Oregon's. It's not even an East Coast/West Coast thing (re: Ohio State and Oregon). Ohio State happens to be like one of the 5 most prominent football programs in the country (including Texas, USC, Notre Dame, and Alabama), so of course that'd garner more attention.
Merely giving reasons why OSU's "scandal" though I do not consider it as such, was given so much hype and Oregon's pay for play scandal is not being mentioned very heavily at all, far different profiles for each school, Oregon is more or less a marketing arm for Nike, OSU actually wins stuff.
Who ever said that? OSU are flat out cheaters and deserve the death penalty. So does Oregon. So does Auburn. Clemson and LSU are cheaters too. And I'm betting we'll soon hear about Florida or FSU cheating too. Of course UNC is about to get hit with heavy sanctions as well.
