The first time I said it, it was after his 8th game in his rookie year {went on to make the probowl}......The Premier Left tackle in the game....The projection on his ceiling after 8 games of film was off the charts..him becoming bigger and stronger was part of that projection, you just new he was gonna take the offseason seriously.
I watch him ball as much as anyone on the team...fantastic to watch....were in good hands , literally, with that cat.PhinsRock and dolfan7171 like this. -
Fact: Jake Long is a cybernetic organism sent back from the future to protect Chad Henne.

Explains why Sparano weighed the guy multiple times throughout the year and he held the same exact weight. Now magically he gains 6 pounds of muscle tissue.
-
i could care less about the weight really i just want to see that foot speed improve. can we add that please.

He is definitely a new breed. No doubt

However, I think Brick is much more valuable in the long run as a top-tier LT is harder to come by than a top-tier C.
Ferguson is my 2nd favorite Jet behind Revis.
I was just kidding about him being better than Long [kinda]. They're both really good, and it is pretty hard to compare LT's since there is no real statistical basis for the position. -
:shifty:
D'Brick was beaten like a 12 year olds ----.

He had Long and D'Brick as 2 and 3, but he had the Jets entire offensive line as his top O-line in the NFL ahead of New Orleans. Ferguson and Mangold are definitely the foundation.
Just for curiosity's sake, say the salary cap comes back and you've given Revis a lucrative contract (for obviously deserved reasons) and you're forced to let one go between Ferguson or Mangold - you still keeping Ferguson?PS17 likes this. -

Long is our best draft pick of the past 15 years. We've had our busts over the years, but Long looks like he is heading to Canton.

He has an insanely low body fat percentage for a LT.

Peters wasn't great, but he was a hell of alot better than he was in Buffalo in 2008.(I wonder why?)TotoreMexico and djphinfan like this. -
6 lbs of muscle and dropping his body fat % too? This guy is going to be a wall of muscle, seriously, holy cow. I'm curious what the % is, I don't think they said in the article?
Anyways its good to see, not even from a love of the team, but just from a view of the game, that there's guys out there who can get that big #1 draft pick pay, and work to prove they deserve it.MikeHoncho likes this. -
Snap!
That's what I like to hear... -
http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=7122&team=21
Bills 2008: 11.5 sacks in 13 games
Eagles 2009: 6.0 sacks in 15 games

Which coincidently have Joe Thomas and Jake Long rated as #1 and #2 Tackles last year.

For something that some think dosen't matter, Sparano sure seems excited about it.
Having said that, this is a great sign.
This guy continues to devote himself to becoming the best professional he can be. Type of players a team needs to make the top. -
