95% of the time Ghost movies don't do it for me. (cgi ruins movies for me)

I would be shocked if it was anything remotely good.

Yeah, I've nothing but good things about this one. The trailer with the audience reactions is great.

 

Prepare to be shocked, just saw it tonight, INSANE.

Heard it's overrated. When you promote it as the scariest movie ever that's bound to happen though. Also heard the "acting"/dialogue is pretty painful at times.

 

How on earth can you say it's crappy without seeing it??

saw it, i agree with sick, with the regard as it seemed real, and the characters were real, and relateable, i enjoyed, it... I think its better to watch with an audience...

 

I took my daughter and her friend to see it (they're under 17 and needed an adult), I was expecting to take one for the team, and sit through a piece of crap "Blair Witch" type BS movie. Boy was I wrong. This was one hell of a movie experience. The director did a phenomenal job of immersing you in his story and building tension like I have never seen before.

I am the type of guy who LOATHES horror movies, and laughs at people who believe in ghosts. But this movie was genuinely creepy. IMO, this is hands-down the best horror movie ever made. It is an absolute must-see.

 

Just watched it on the internetz. It was OK...

the first hour is basically pointless. It sets some things up, but nothing all that important. However once Mika starts doing his own thing, it picks up. It did a great job building suspense, but like so many of those movies, the ending falls flat.

Not sure why everyone hates the Blair Witch project... It was def. creepy and had it's moments. Certainly not a movie that holds up to multiple viewings, but neither is Paranormal activity.

I think the scariest movie I ever saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It was so eerie.

 

I saw it last Friday, loved it, the characters were great and it was a truly frightening movie.

 

I don't think so. Movie just wasn't scary at all. The blood curdling scream towards the end startled me. But overall it was overrated.


Can someone explain to me the differences between the 2 endings?

 

In the original one Katie stands and watches him sleep, walks downstairs and lets out a scream. He runs down stairs screaming, then it goes silent. She walks back into the bedroom bloody and with a knife, sits down by the bed rocking back and forth for hours and hours (maybe days) until her friend comes and finds his dead body. The police come later. Katie snaps out of it, the police warn her to drop her knife but she is confused and doesn't. The cops shoot her.

In the theater one Katie does the same pretty much, except instead of coming up stairs alone she brings him back up and throws him at the camera. Then she crawls at the knocked over camera and kind of smiles, then jumps at it for shock value.

Overall the movie was okay, I like the original ending way better.

 

I can tell that this movie sucks just by watching the previews and Hollywood's desperate attempt to fill seats.

I can't wait not to see it.

Edit:Max Payne is better.

My only problem with it was that the police seemed really cheesy and not real :lol: like she wasnt a threat at all to them and they shot her. You'd think they would try and subdue her or something before resorting to that.

 

I thought it was pretty good. It was slow starting off. But they did a good job of building up to the end. Its the type of movie that isn't scary (at least to me) in the theater while you're watching it. But its going to be scary when I shut the door to my room, turn off the lights, and try to go to sleep tonight and all I can think of are scenes from it.

Some elements of it reminded me of Drag Me To Hell. But that was a different kind of horror movie. I think they both work really well for what they are. And they are both a breath of fresh air amongst all of the Saw movies and the remakes of classic horror films that we get now and days.

 

In my opinion it was the exact opposite of The Blar Witch Project. BWP was a great concept with terrible execution of it. Paranormal Activity was great execution with camera work and the like, but it went out of it's way to not have a plot.

She is haunted because "there doesnt need to be a reaso it's random" that whole scene was just awful.

It had some good suspense, but overall I thought it was pretty ****ty.

Def way too much hype.
