WR Hakeem Nicks works out for Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano
Prior to the University of North Carolina spring game, Parcells and Tony Sparano conducted a private workout this morning with wide receiver Hakeem Nicks and some of his former Tar Heels teammates (wide receiver Brooks Foster, tight end Richard Quinn and safety Trimane Goddard), according to a person familiar with the workout.
Parcells and Sparano spent the most time with Nicks, considered one of the top wide receivers in next month’s draft and a candidate for the No. 25 pick held by the Dolphins.
Parcells doesn’t just hit the road to work out anyone. After all, he didn’t even travel on the road with the Dolphins last season.
But the Dolphins are in the market for a big, strong wide receiver who can line up outside, run the 18-yard in patterns and skinny posts, and find the end zone.
Nicks seems to be an ideal candidate.
Nicks seems to have made a strong impression on Parcells and Sparano today.
The 6-foot, 3/4-inch Nicks weighed in at 216 pounds and caught everything in sight, according to the source.
