Something tells me that Jones is gonna be extra nice to Parcells, cause there is one thing he wants more then anything and that is our 1st round pick and Mcfadden....

I guess Parcells will be flying today to Dallas to get there guy

Maybe I'm wrong, but should not Ireland be calling for permission?? Didn't Parcells say the GM would be in charge?
So who is the GM? Parcells or Ireland? -
-
Sparano is the OL/Assistant Headcoach, he also called the offensive plays for Parcells last year. Im surprised Parcells is not interested in Garrett makes me think that the rumors of Phillips being fired and Garrett promoted are true.....
One last note Jones is not being such a nice guy without a reason. My personal opinion is, the reason Jones is being so nice to Miami is beuse he wants one player and one player alone and that is Mcfadden.Last edited: Jan 4, 2008 -

Am I wrong in thinking we cant hire or announce him as HC until Dallas is out of the playoffs or SB champs?

And, given what comment Ireland made before he was even offered the job, then I would have to assume he was in the loop of what was gonna take place but thats JMO. -
-
Can't we interview assistants during the bye week that Dallas has, thats a rule I believe.
-
Im sure during that time they will be interviewing other coaches to qualify with the Ronney Rule. Here is also a small bit from the Miami Herald.....
One last note. I have not been able to find an article stating, but reports are the Ireland is in Dallas today. I'll see if I find something, just a Rumor..... -
Well Sparano interviews today w/ Atlanta - if he walks w/o the job then it is probably a 80-90% chance he comes here and is the head coach. Now whether he's worth a dam is another question - we have hotshots before. -
Actually, i thought we couldnt talk to a coach until they were eliminated from the playoffs.
-
It's a team effort. Both Parcells and Ireland want Sparano; whether he gets hired today or in a month from now, they're all on the same page.
The franchise is a mess and to re organize it, is a tough task.
It's not about who's job it is to do what; it's about getting the job done. That's how it is in real life.
And like on bold, as long as they're all on the same page, everything will be fine. -
i treid looking for the rule officially but couldnt find it.. damn google

If Sparano is a Parcells guy, it shouldn't be an issue getting the coaching staff put together and in place, if the Dolphins have to wait for him. Though the fact that Ireland said a coach would be hired soon, suggests to me that they
A) Already have an "unofficial" deal in place with Sparano. Maybe even to Jerry Jones' knowledge.
B) They aren't targeting Sparano.Last edited: Jan 4, 2008 -

Dave Wannestedt = scattershot -
Jimmy the hotshot marginally worked for us
Saban the hotshot didnt work for us
Cam the hotshot didnt work for us
Time for a non-hotshot wouldnt you agree -

Seems like Sunday is our day with Sparano, dont be surprise if Tommorrow we interview somebody that qualifies under the Ronney Rules. One thing I like about Parcells is that he gets things done quick. My guess that is if Sparano decides that he likes ATL or Balt more the MIA, Parcells will go big time after Garrett or Haley from Arizona. On a final one of the guys Parcells might have liked to target is out of the race, Josh Mcdaniels of the Patriots has said he will remain their OC and will not interview in 2008 with any teams for a HC gig.
