Since being informed by the team last month that Parker would be traded or released, his agent has been in contact with numerous teams and Parker is expected to sign with someone else immediately.
Chargers | Parker released Wed, 23 Jul 2008 11:14:34 -0700 Casey Pearce, of Chargers.com, reports the San Diego Chargers released WR Eric Parker Wednesday, July 23.

He had a career-high 57 receptions in 2005 and caught 152 passes over a three-year span from 2004-06. But he injured his right big toe in a minicamp practice in June 2007 and underwent surgery two months later to repair a cracked sesamoid bone. It was originally hoped he would return to action in October but the toe didn't heal sufficiently.
Not like anyone in our WR corps can claim to be any better than Parker in the past few years. 650-700 yards is about the same as what Hagan and Ginn have both produced last year.

Parker was signed through 2010 on a deal he signed in 2006. “He was a terrific kid and great football player for us,” General Manager A.J. Smith said. “We wish him the best.”
