Sitting here watching Chris Hogan catch a TD pass in the AFC Championship I can't help but wonder how many players have come and over the last 15 yrs that could have helped change this team around?
Another obvious thing in both AFC and NFC championships are the quarterbacks.
I'm not looking to bash Ryan Tannehill but really??
Where is this team headed?? And when should the Dolphins bring in that franchise QB??
Some of you will say trade the whole draft for the next franchise QB - some of you will say wait and build slowly. --- either way seems like the teams behind an 8-ball even with Gase in regards to time it will take to be coming competitive. It's hard if every year you got to be 11 and 5 to get a wild card, have no home field advantage and pick much lower in the draft across the board.
Just don't want to keep being that team and mediocre purgatory.

tannehill is a franchise QB. Getting a franchise QB is not as easy as you make it out to be. none of the QBs playing in the championships was a number one overall draft pick. once you get a franchise qb you dont trade them and before you get one you're never really sure who the next one is. it took us fifteen years to find one after Marino

I think RT is at the point in his career where he will start to show more consistency and put our hearts at ease. Plus he will be in year 2 with his new BFF Adam Gase.

I hope RT gets it and evolves into a really good QB. As far as guys like Hogan go, it does suck to think we had first shot at him and other guys like that, and we just let them walk. Hurts more when they shine in NE.

If the Phins weren't on Hard Knocks, I doubt anyone would even remember that Chris Hogan was in camp that year. Its been 4 seasons since he was in Miami and in that time he has never had more than 45 catches or 700 yards in a year. He has had only three 100 yard games in his career and has posted a whopping 10 TDs in 4 years!!! Heck, this year with Brady throwing to him is the first time he broke 600 yards. He had a great game yesterday but I think we can cool the jets on the "how did we let him get away" talk.

We had three receivers with over 700 yards receiving this past season.
I am not going to lament and pine over Chris ****ING Hogan.
This team went 10-6 and made the playoffs with their back up QB, 3rd/4th string safeties, one linebacker and a rookie head coach.

Tannehill is a solid qb, not elite. Solid qb's have solid seasons. You may get a super bowl trip here or there. The qb's that are elite, have their teams in it, year after year. I think Miami owes to themselves to always look because what the eite qb does, not like an elite corner or DT, is mask weaknesses. Look at what Rodgers did with a GB team, when 4-6, really was a mediocre team all year long.

Exactly. Bill is smart to never re-sign them to kill the cap. Look at Collins and Jones. He just re-tools. They scout well, keep it simple and find players to fit into a scheme. They also have Coordinators who are smart enough to know that they cant be head coaches. Patricia and McDaniels arent going anywhere. They know their role under the genius of Bellichik. The draft manipulation is another trait. How he moves up and down in the draft is amazing. Let's see what they get for Garropolo if that arrives. Someone will give them picks, high picks. What is scary, is BB is genius enough to get the next Brady again,late in the draft.
