Pat White could see the field before Chad Henne.

Chad Pennington will be the starter this year. Because of his versatility Pat White will probably be playing some games for a few snaps to run the wildcat. So while Chad Henne will be holding a clipboard and waiting for 2010 Pat White will probably be on the field tossing passes and slashing his way through opposing defenses. I'd rather have had a LB at that slot but Pat White will be on the field this year and giving opposing teams fits.

I noticed you stopped short of proclaiming that White is in direct competition with Henne ?? Someone tell me exactly why White was drafted ?? A QB ?? A WR ?? A slash ?? A RB ?? With all the other needs this team has, a project player is not what we needed at #44....

IF you go listen to Ireland on miamidolphins.com, they've got something specific in mind for the guy. He says something like "our coaches have a vision fo tthis player". I really see him as a slash guy that can probably serve backup at wr, maybe hb - a roster space saver.

they are in direct competition JI has said so himself. white was drafted because of his versatility; the coaches have something in mind for him already. if I were a betting man I could bet what some of that would be (wildcat). It's the stuff I don't know about that has me excited about the pick.

No way the staff see the guy as a regular starter over Henne.

By the way, this is the fourth second round pick we've spent on a qb.

The FO obviously thinks this guy is special. I agree. He'll make our offense that much more dynamic...

Pt White will be on the field in the first game most likely.

i think we're looking at him as a sort of slash QB. I think he's going to be directly competing with Henne at QB and might actually see the field at QB faster because he can do the slash QB/wildcat thing. He'd have to be really impressive at QB though to become our every down QB.

I don't think that there is any way that Pat White would become the every down starter over Henne.

they made the right decision to go with White

the guy is a starter from day-one running the WildCat & returning kicks on ST's
White will also fit well in the slot @ WR

    think about it:
    1) starter WildCat
    2) QB Stable
    3) WR Stable
    4) Special Teams

    this is a good pick:yes:

PW has never returned a kick in his life from my understanding. That's not to say he never can but let's not act like it's job... lol, we can't even get Ginn to return kicks and punts...

    Key points...

    1) This is Chad Pennington's team...this year.

    2) When Chad P. leaves, Chad Henne will have to FEND off Pat White for the starting role. That means Chad Henne might have the leading nod, but will have to EARN it to keep it.

    3) Pat White will be the Wildcat QB, RB, WR, and waterboy. He will play a large role in the growth of the Wildcat this season.

    4) Pat White was drafted to compete for the FUTURE QB and HELP out now with the Wildcat.

    5) Pat White will see more snaps this season at QB, than Chad Henne. This will give them plenty of looks on him for 2011's comp with Henne.

    6) The pick was not a reach and Mayock thinks he starts within 2-3 years.

    7) Miami is in a GREAT PLACE right now, they have 3 QB's and one guy packing as we speak.

That is an awesome problem to have...
Hey guys, the best guy plays, what do can you do on the field?

Miami has a strong armed, big body type QB with a BRIGHT FUTURE.
Miami has a quick footed, athletic type QB with a BRIGHT FUTURE.
Miami has a Leader, Field General, Locker room warrior for another 1-2 seasons.

    Loving it...simply loving it!!!

something i didn't think about before is that white also will help our d-fense in preperation to play other teams that have a scrambling,quick-footed qb.
