The reason Patrick Turner hasn't played

In 2007, the Saints drafted Robert Meachem in the first round. He was inactive for ALL 16 games. He had 12 catches in 2008.
He looks pretty damn good in 2009. -
...but he hasn't done anything yet.
So we will ***** and moan.
And if he will turn out good.
We will all comeback, and tell each other "i told you so"

Come to find out he is some kind of message board super hero.
I realize now how ridiculous that is, but damn if he doesn't find the best articles and find them way before anyone else. -
I don't hold out too much hope for Turner to be honest. If you look at our WR core we have guys that do one or maybe to things well each. What we are missing is that #1WR ( A guy that can do it all ). We can fill that #2 - #5 WR slots already with our current WRs.
Turner probably isn't a #1. So at that point then him coming in is just like switching out one decent WR for another.
I have no problem with Turner; he just isn't going to offer us anything that is a cut above what our current WR core brings to the table.
Edit: maybe he could become our long term #2 WR? -

From what i saw in the 2nd half of the Patriot game, i believe you will now see a clear cut #1 option which will be Greg C...i believe the staff and the player are on the same page with that, I believe a conscious decision has been made, i think you will see a settling affect to our offense because we have determined that, He is now our #1..I believe you will see him targeted early and often, which will let Ginn and Bess settle back into their roles, with Pat turner comin the rear...real fast.
Coming off the ACL, I believe the man took unjust critisism, and there was a lot of false analysis about the player imo....
We about to find out how false some people's analysis, was..
Look for Greg C to lift this offense in a major way. -

yes he did..... how are things alen1
Robert underwent knee surgery and was unable to play in his rookie season.

Meachem didn't play his rookie year cause he sucked. I live in New Orleans and remember it vividly. I trust wikipedia about as much as Padre trusts MSNBC.
He may have had some nagging injuries, but the dude was inactive cause he sucked. -
if turner isn't playing, it is probably because he's not better than the guys we have starting.

can't wait to see what he brings to the table. got a good feeling about the guy.

agreed

i have to believe he is sitting for 2 reasons ...
he doesn't understand the offense enough to execute it, better than the current batch ...
he hasn't shown himself good enough to help on STs ....
this staff will not just throw rookies out on the field to see what they can do ... it just isn't their style - unless they are forced to do it (such as Davis and Smith). Just look at Clemons.
When they are comfortable that Turner can execute and contribute ... he will be out there.
just like most of you - i want to see what he brings to the table ... especially in the middle of the field and the red zone, but i think we'll have to wait a few more weeks.
equally, if we do go on the win streak we are capable of (considering our upcoming opponents) then his likelihood of playing decreases again. -
he'll play against the Bucks. his time has come...

Why the heck not give Turner a shot, whats he going to do, not get open?? And that would be different from the rest of the recievers how?? At least Turner has the size and body to go up after a ball.
The real problem with this is who do you sit? None of the recievers have stood out enough to actually pick one to keep or one to sit. I couldn't feel more indifferent about who sits. I guess you can't sit Ginn for the fact that he is the KR and Bess is the PR so that leaves you with Cam which is probably the best WR of the bunch and Hartline who actually seems to makes plays now and then.dolfan7171 likes this. -
And we need to get Turner in there, he can only help with his large size and experience in a pro style system at southern cal. He can really ball out. -
